It was the next evening and Emma and David were figuring out how to put a cradle together as Mary Margaret sat on a chair furrowing her brow at the instructions.
I sighed watching them mumble amongst each other as they disagreed on which piece went where. Mary Margaret seemed slightly irritated by it as well.
"How long?" I asked as I approached Mary Margaret, dropping my school bag on the ground.
"They opened the box an hour ago," Mary Margaret said before she turned to look at me. "How was school?"
It was nice that she asked and actually cared. It felt different having more people in my life care about me. And as much as I hated the idea at first, it wasn't so bad.
It was difficult to hide my smile. "It wasn't so bad. I'd rather be there after what happened yesterday."
Mary Margaret groaned. "I can't say I disagree."
Last night when I got home I was unhappily confronted and put up to date with the witches showdown. To say the least, it was chaos. As it turned out Mary Margaret's new nanny was a baby snatcher all this time. She was planning on using the newborn for some kind of spell that they tasked Belle to pindown.
"Where's Henry?" I asked. Emma looked down, ignoring me. She was still upset with what had happened the day before. She still had no idea of Pan which means Ruby kept my secret. But there is her superpower to sense deception so she knows somethings up.
"He went to the store," David answered examining the pieces of wood.
"You mean to tell me my son is out and about buying bread and milk while that witch could have easily snatched him up by now?" Regina snarled walking in from the front door.
"I don't think Zelena is interested in Henry," I said, just repeating my thoughts, but earning a quick glare from Regina.
"Yeah, don't you think we should be worrying about Zelena instead of a crib right now?" Asked Mary Margaret. That was something I agreed with.
"We can't put our life on hold because of a witch," David replied.
"We have to show that she doesn't have power over us. The crib is a statement," Emma added, but looked towards Regina for her approval. "Regina?"
"I put up a new protection spell, one that she won't be able to break," Regina said.
"Now all we do is wait for her next move," Mary Margaret leaned back in her chair, sighing. She had been put through enough stress after her nanny ended up being the evil villain.
"That's useless! We have to stop playing defense and make our next move," Emma explained. "And I think I'm ready for it," she looked up to Regina. I quirked my brow curiously.
Regina winced. "Emma-"
"No I'm ready this time," she defended, "I'll just leave Henry with someone who will take care of him."
Now I was more confused and looked to Emma.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Wait hold up," David called out. "Why can't Henry be with us?"
Emma gave him a look that he and Mary Margaret both interpreted quickly.
