Jiara:Academics are more important than your well being

Flashback:
"No no no" Kiara said as she ran out the door. Kiara ran into the street and saw Gracie lying under a car and Zoey on top. JJ had gone outside and carefully lifted Zoey off of the car. "Gracie is she ok?" Zoey asked as she was placed onto the ground. "I don't know. But are you?" JJ asked. "I...think so." Zoey stuttered. Kiara had seen Gracie and she went over by her. "Mom it hurts" Gracie said as she saw Kiara. "I know baby just hang on." Kiara said. "I'm sorry I ran I just needed a bre owww." Gracie said as she felt a pain shoot out her back. "It's ok what hurts?" Kiara asked. "My back really bad." Gracie said. "Just hang on baby." Kiara said. "Mom it hurts really bad." Gracie said. Paramedics arrived and they helped Gracie out. Kiara rode with Gracie and JJ took his own car.

After the girls got to the hospital they both were checked and put into intensive care. Kiara and JJ visited them everyday until they were able to go home. Zoey was able to go home first so JJ took her home and took care of her while Kiara would visit Gracie and make sure she was ok. Kiara kept checking on Gracie and making sure she was ok mentally. "Mom I'm fine I just really want to go home so I can study." Gracie said. "You're not studying anymore. Studying got you into all of this. You're taking a break from school for the rest of the year." Kiara said. "What are you crazy I need to go to school I can't just end up like a nobody who didn't go to school." Gracie said. "Gracie your father and I literally got our GEDs and then bachelor's degrees you'll be fine." Kiara said. "Fine I'm not trying to be fine I'm trying to be more than fine." Gracie said. "More than fine what does that mean?" Kiara said. "It means not being as clueless as you as dad. That's what it fucking means." Gracie said. "You think we're clueless? I'm leaving." Kiara said. Kiara grabbed her stuff and walked out. "Mom where are you going to have to take me home." Gracie said. "Find someone else." Kiara said. Gracie just sat on the bed until she heard Kiara say get up. "I can't get up." Gracie whispered. Kiara watched Gracie get into the wheelchair and then just wheeled her out. Gracie got into the car and she didn't talk the whole way home. Once she got home JJ brought her inside and took her to her room. When she got to her room she saw her letters on her bed. Gracie looked at her letters and she just threw them on the floor. Gracie grabbed the pills she had hidden in her nightstand and took them. She took about twenty pills before her body started to feel sick. "Princess are you ok?" JJ said as he knocked on the door. Gracie didn't answer so JJ opened the door and he saw Gracie lying on the floor shaking. "Gracie. Kie call 911." JJ yelled. Kiara came rushing upstairs and she saw JJ holding Gracie. "G" Kiara said. Kiara called 911 and she went to look for narcan. "I got the narcan is she breathing?" Kiara said as she came back into the room. "Yea" JJ said. Kiara used the narcan and Gracie didn't wake up. The paramedics arrived and they took her to the hospital. On the way to the hospital Gracie woke up and she immediately noticed she was being wheeled into the hospital. "Where am I?" Gracie slurred. "You're in the hospital you had an overdose." A paramedic said. "No no I want to leave." Gracie said. Gracie tried to get up but she was strapped to the gurney. "You're not leaving that easy." A doctor said. "Our daughter Gracelyn she came through here she had an overdose can we see her?" JJ asked the front desk lady. "Your daughter Gracelyn.." The front desk lady said but got cutoff by JJ saying Maybank. "Gracelyn Maybank her doctor sent her to the psych ward to be examined." The front desk lady said. "Psych ward? Why?" JJ said. "Because she tried to overdose which means she's on suicide watch until further notice we will call you with an update." The front desk lady said. JJ just walked out and he got into his car. "Kie's gonna be so pissed." JJ said to himself. JJ drove home and he went inside. "How is she?" Kiara said as she went up to JJ. "She's umm... she's in the psych ward." JJ said. "Psych ward? What's wrong with her?" Kiara said. "You know what's wrong with her Kie she tried to kill herself over a grade. A goddamn grade all because she has to be the best academically." JJ said. "Well she's the one who said we were clueless." Kiara said. "And you not apologizing and almost leaving her at the hospital didn't help any less." JJ said. "Can I see her before she goes?" Kiara said. "No she's already gone or she's getting examined." JJ said. "I'm going to try and see." Kiara said. Kiara was grabbing her things when JJ heard Zoey come out the guest room. "Zozo what's wrong?" JJ said as he turned around. "I threw up on my blanket and it got in my hair." Zoey hiccuped. Kiara and JJ went upstairs and helped Zoey. "I'm sorry I threw up I didn't mean to." Zoey said. "It's ok Zozo were not mad." JJ said as he finished washing the puke out of Zoey's hair. "Are you sure because Gracie told me you guys get mad at her a lot." Zoey said. "We're never mad at her. We're just upset that she doesn't hang out with us." JJ said. "Are you sure Kiara is because she seems to yell at Gracie a lot." Zoey said. Zoey saw Kiara in the doorway and she covered her mouth with her hands. "Kie" JJ said as he got closer to Kiara. "Get away from me." Kiara said. JJ backed up and he saw what Kiara was holding. "Are those her.." JJ said but Kiara cut him off. "Your name isn't in one of these damn letters... mine is" Kiara said. "Ok what does that have to do with anything?" JJ said. "She's apologizing to me in every one of these letters because she feels like she let me down." Kiara said. "Well I can't say she's not wrong." JJ said. "What?" Kiara said. "She isn't I've been friends with her forever and she always says if I don't get good grades I'll be proving my mom and grandma right by showing that I'm stupid and why no teen should have a baby that young." Zoey chimed in. "She's been trying to prove me and my mom right?" Kiara said. "Yea for years all because your mom told her when she was four years old how stupid teens have a stupid kids." JJ said. "I'm gonna kill my mom." Kiara said. Kiara tried to walk away but Zoey stopped her. "Before you do that apologize to Gracie they aren't gonna send her right away they'll call you before she gets sent away so you can say your goodbyes. Write a letter and apologize." Zoey said. Kiara went into her bedroom and sat on the bed. "I'll go check on her you think you can make it back to the guest room?" JJ said. "I think so." Zoey said. JJ carried Zoey back to the guest room and then he went to go check on Kiara. "Kie?" JJ said. "I'm a horrible mother." Kiara cried. "Mamas no. You're a great mom you just have a few flaws that need to be fixed." JJ said. "A few?" Kiara hiccuped. "Yea a few." JJ said. "Mom come quick." Zoey yelled. Kiara and JJ ran and saw Zoey standing up. "What is it?" JJ said. "Gracies on the phone." Zoey said. "Hi G." Kiara said. "Mom get me out of here there's crazy people in her." Gracie said. "How crazy?" Kiara said. Gracie didn't answer since she had punched someone and Kiara heard her say "talk shit about my mom again I'll beat your ass." Gracie said. "I gotta go to the hospital and pick Gracie up she punched someone." Kiara said. "Ok I'll stay with Zoey." JJ said. Kiara went to go pick up Gracie while Zoey stayed with JJ.
