Kiara & Sarah:Taking care of Sammy

Context:In the last oneshot Kiara and Sarah got full custody of Sam/Sammy and she's been living with them for the last six months. This is a time jump to see how Sammy is doing and to her eighth birthday. (Sammy and Sam are the same person btw) TW:MENTIONS TALK OF SUICIDE AND ATTEMPTING

"Mommy Mommy wake up it's my birthday." Sammy said as she jumped on Kiara and Sarah's bed. "Sammy it's too early and Mommy's not feeling good. Go back to sleep." Kiara mumbled. Sammy got off of the bed and went back to her room. "Kie telling Sammy you're sick when you just don't want to get out of bed is crazy. Today is her eighth birthday it's the first birthday she's actually spending with you." Sarah said as she came out of the bathroom. "I know but I don't want her to see me upset." Kiara said. "She's been seeing you lay in bed for the past week. What more don't you want her to see." Sarah said. Kiara just got up and stood in front of Sarah. "Mommy you're bleeding." Sammy said since she was standing in the doorway. Kiara went to the bathroom and Sarah grabbed Sammy. "I have to help Mommy let me go please." Sammy said. "Mommy's taking a shower we have to let her be." Sarah said. "But she's bleeding and she's sick." Sammy said. "Since she's sick let's make her a card." Sarah said. Sarah took Sammy back to her room and let her make Kiara a card. Sarah went to check on Kiara who was sitting on the bed wrapped in her towel. "Hey Sexy." Sarah said. "Hi" Kiara whispered. "Baby what's wrong?" Sarah said. "I was bleeding because I got my period." Kiara said. "Oh did you change the sheets?" Sarah said. "I slept on three towels." Kiara said. Sarah grabbed Kiara something to wear and she helped her get dressed. Kiara and Sarah went downstairs and they saw Sammy lying on the floor. "Sammy baby are you ok?" Kiara said as she saw Sammy. "I slipped on the water." Sammy said. Kiara lifted Sammy up and she brought her over to the couch. "You're not bleeding but you're ok right?" Kiara said. "Yea I'm fine I'll go back to my room now." Sammy said. Sammy got up and left the card that she made for Kiara on the couch. Sammy went upstairs and she shut her door. "Kie whatever is going on with you is making things with Sammy worse." Sarah said. "I know. And I don't know what's wrong with me." Kiara said. "You're feeling sad because this is the first birthday you're spending with Sammy and it reminds you of the day you gave her away." Sarah said. Kiara got up and she went over to the table where Sammy's gifts were. "She wrote us a letter saying she doesn't want her gifts since she doesn't deserve them." Kiara said. "Mommy" Sammy yelled. Kiara ran upstairs and went into Sammy's room. Sammy just hugged Kiara and cried into her chest. "What's wrong baby?" Kiara whispered. "You and Mommy forgot my birthday." Sammy cried. "No we didn't baby we were just having a stressful morning." Kiara said. "But I didn't get any gifts. I left the bags on the table because they're for your friends." Sammy said. "Sammy the bags have your gifts inside of them." Kiara said. "But I never get gifts." Sammy said. "Michelle didn't give you gifts?" Kiara asked. Sammy shook her head no and cuddled into Kiara's chest. "Do you want to go open your gifts?" Kiara asked. "No I want to stay here with you." Sammy said. "What if Mama brings the gifts up here?" Kiara asked. "Ok" Sammy whispered. Sarah came upstairs with the gifts and sat next to Kiara. "Sammy you can open gifts now." Sarah said. Sammy opened her gifts and she got a bunch of new clothes and a stuff animal. "Thank you." Sammy said. Sam went downstairs and grabbed Larry. Sam was waiting at the bottom of stairs for Sarah and Kiara. "Mommy" Sammy yelled. "We're coming." Kiara said. Kiara and Sarah went downstairs and saw Sammy sitting on the ground. "What's wrong baby." Sarah said. Sammy had tears in eyes and she held her arms out. Kiara picked her up and she heard her say she's sorry. "Sorry for what baby?" Kiara said as she took Sammy back upstairs. "I didn't say thank you for the gifts and now you're gonna take them away." Sammy cried. "I'm not taking your gifts away, Mama isn't taking your gifts. Sammy what's wrong?" Kiara said. "After I woke you guys up this morning I heard Mama say you need to spend my birthday with me because you haven't. But I don't think you want to. Which is fine because Michelle never spent my birthdays with me. I understand why you don't want to." Sammy said as she walked away. "Sammy honey." Kiara said as she walked after her. "It's ok Mommy just spend time with Mama I know you want to. No one cares about me." Sammy said. Sammy went downstairs and into the kitchen. She saw a big knife sitting on the counter and a flashback popped into her head.

"Samantha if you're gonna hold a knife like that you need to do it when you're trying to defend yourself. Or you're feeling sad like me and want the whole world to stop spinning so you use this knife to end it all but you don't because a child needs you." Michelle said. "End it all what does that mean?" Sammy said. "Killing yourself because you feel worthless or however you feel. I wouldn't do it if I were you because I would miss you so much. Your real mom would probably miss you but I don't know I don't talk to her." Michelle said.

Once the flashback ended Sammy was in Sarah's arms. "Mama I'm not dead?" Sammy said. "No but you fainted and cut your leg pretty bad on the knife you were holding." Sarah said. "I'm sor— oww that hurts." Sammy said as she felt Kiara wrap a bandage around her leg. "Sorry Sammy I got to make sure the bleeding stops." Kiara said. "Sammy why did you think you were dead?" Sarah asked. "I don't know." Sammy said. "Sammy you do know. I know you know." Sarah said. "You guys are crazy I don't know mean I don't know." Sammy yelled. Sammy got up and limped up to her room. Once she shut the door she laid on her bed and cried. "I don't what's gotten into her today." Kiara said. "She's brought up Michelle a few times maybe there's something we missed in her file." Sarah said. Kiara went upstairs to get Sammy's file when she heard something fall in Sammy's room. Kiara opened the door and she saw Sammy's hanging down from her celling fan. "Sammy" Kiara yelled. Kiara untied the jump rope Sammy's head was through and she laid her on the ground. "Come on baby breathe." Kiara said as she shook Sammy. "Kie" Sarah said. "Don't just stand there help me." Kiara said as she saw Sarah standing in the doorway. Sarah went over and she listened to Sammy's breathing. "She's breathing." Sarah said. Sammy started to wake up and she saw Sarah and Kiara looking at her with tears in their eyes. Kiara hugged Sammy really tight. "Mommy I'm sorry I tried to die I just felt sad." Sammy said. "I'm sorry I didn't get up with you this morning." Kiara said. Kiara lifted Sammy up so she could see her neck. "Does it hurt baby?" Kiara asked. "A little." Sammy said. Sarah went to look at Sammy's neck. "It's not too bad it should heal by itself." Sarah said. Kiara looked at Sammy and she broke. Sarah took Sammy to the bathroom and she put a cream on her neck. "Mommy's sad." Sammy said. "Why don't you give mommy a hug." Sarah said. Sarah put Sammy down and she watched her walk into her room. "It's ok Mommy." Sammy whispered. "Don't ever do that again you hear me. If you feel like that ever again talk to me or mama first." Kiara yelled. Sammy didn't like hearing Kiara yell so she went downstairs and went by the front door. "Samantha stop." Kiara said. "Kie your scaring her let me talk to her." Sarah said as she went downstairs. Sarah lifted Sammy up and sat her down on the couch. "Sar—" Kiara said but got cuttoff. "Get out of my house." Sarah said. "Sarah this is our house I'm not leaving." Kiara said. "This is my house. It's in my name I pay for everything you don't do shit. And now I'm the one who's actually taking care of your daughter. So until your ready to actually be a mom you can come back but until then get the hell out of my house." Sarah said. Kiara didn't say a thing so she just grabbed her purse and left. "Mommy come back." Sammy said. Sammy tried to chase after Kiara but Sarah stopped her. Sammy ran out the door and followed Kiara. Sammy got in the car with Kiara and she buckled herself in. "Go back with Mama I know you want to." Kiara said. "No I want to stay with you." Sammy said. Sarah went up to Kiara's car when she stopped. "Mama I'm staying with Mommy but I want her to stay in the house." Sammy said. "She can stay but we have to talk." Sarah said.
