Deku raised an eyebrow and tilted his head slightly—a wide smile still plastered on his face:
"Final battle?" Deku repeated with laughs in between.
"Oh contraire, my beautiful girlfriend," Deku began with a sigh and a serene smile as he closed his eyes, before reopening them.
"The real battle has only just begun."
Ochako did not answer immediately. Instead, she stood there menacingly. Her aura was so potent it was practically visible. She stared hard at the man she loved, and she knew that what he had become now was greater than anything she had ever seen. However, she was not afraid. It was her job as a hero to face the impossible, and somehow make it possible.
On the other hand, Deku looked at Ochako with genuine happiness. He was truly proud that she had stepped up to face him again. This was the thing that most people, whether they knew it or not, were completely unaware of.
In his eyes, Deku has done nothing wrong.
Deku is delivering justice as he sees fit, and now that he has the power and freedom to do so, he is taking advantage. The opposing team of UA deserters view him as a new and improved threat. But, to Deku?
It's just Tuesday.
"Guys," Ochako called aloud calmly, her chocolate eyes never escaping Deku's silver. "Take care of Deku's group. Deku himself is mine."
Iida looked at Ochako with understanding and nodded in agreement. Momo looked slightly somber, but she gave a bittersweet smile as she too agreed. Before anyone else could answer, though—
"NO WAY!" Bakugo interjected with explosions coming from his hands. He grinned demonically as he continued. "You think just because you two are dating that means you get first dibs? FAT CHANCE!"
Bakugo rushed Deku immediately after saying this. Deku still had an unbothered smile even while being threatened with attack. His eyes never left his lover's, even when Bakugo's explosive hand was inches from Deku's in a surprisingly quick amount of time.
However, before Bakugo could even *graze* Deku's nose, he stopped short.
Bakugo was no longer emitting any explosions. He wasn't angry. He wasn't tired. He wasn't even speaking. Bakugo was just stuck there, frozen—it was like his whole body just shut down. It was like he stopped just short of attacking and no longer had a desire to continue.
It was almost as if he was afraid to.
Bakugo barely even managed the courage to turn his head. However, once he finally did he came face to face with the culprit:
"Silly boy," A deep and dark voice called out.
Bakugo got a view of King's hulking figure, and could see he was now in battle mode. No more timidity or shyness, he was ready to show why he deserves his rank at that top.
"Before you even think about touching Deku, you have to go through me." King finished as he leaned his head slightly back, tilted his head slightly, and widened his eyes along with a devious smile, all of this at the same time.
"I-I d-don't f-f-fight s-second b-best!" Bakugo managed to squeeze out as he stuttered more than he ever had in life. He was struggling to breathe, let alone look King in the eye.
King darkly chuckled as he closed his eyes: "You're a confident one. Those are my favorite to break."
Bakugo managed to fully turn his body towards his enemy, and stared him down. There was visible shivering as he was doing so, but he stood his ground, which impressed King.
