Does anyone remember how old Chase was when Sophie arrived at the castle? I know Sophie was 10 but was Chase 13 or 15?

I tried to go back and look but it was hard to do... so if you remember if appreciate it if you comment.

Chase POV:

"Oh, I don't know!" I exclaim looking at the many plate sets for the wedding. "They're plates! Does it really matter all that much?"

The maid looks confused, not sure if she should answer or not.

Alec laughs. "Then just pick one, if it doesn't matter..."

I turn to face him. "But it does matter!"

Alec wraps his arms around my waist and kisses my neck. "Let's just do paper plates and and plastic silverware."

I groan and stomp my foot. "Alec, you're not helping."

He kisses my neck again, he keeps his lips there. "I know, baby. I'm sorry. But... just so long as your the one walking down the isle towards me. You don't even need to be in a dress."

I laugh and rest my head against his chest. "You want me in nothing?"

"Mmhm." He laughs. "Just in your birthday suit."

I giggle and kiss his cheek. "You're silly."

"Hey." He says.

I turn my head up to look at him. "Yeah?"

"I love you."

I sigh. "I love you too."

He presses his lips to mine. Our lips move together. I smile against his lips. He reaches up to my hair and pulls the one pin that holds my hair up out. "I like your hair down." He whispers.

I roll my eyes and press my lips to his again, but before we can get any farther someone clears their throat.

I pull away to see my mom, dad and brother. My mom laughs. "How's the wedding planning going?"

I grin. "Great."

"I can tell," my dad grumbles.

"Maxon." Mom warns, shifting Cory on her hip. "What have you picked, darling?"

I sigh and pull away from Alec. "I'm not sure but Alec is good with paper plates."

Alec blushes. "Well... I mean... I don't need a big fancy wedding... I just need Chase."

"Nice cover," I kiss his cheek. I walk over to my mom and take Cory. "How you doin' buddy? Mom, where's Sophie?"

She sighs. "Cory was being... difficult today so I told her to catch up on some of her work and I'll take care of him."

I look at my little brother. "You being a bad boy?"

He giggles and shakes his head. "No."

I tickle his stomach. "You want to go play with Alec while mommy, daddy and I work on the wedding?"

Alec smiles and takes Cory from me. "Do you think your sister will let you use her paints?"

I sigh, "yes. But only the cheep washable stuff. And you both have to give me a kiss."

Cory leans over and kisses my cheek. Alec pecks my lips, "love you."

"I love you too."

Alec POV:

I lift Cory up onto my shoulders and walk to Chase's art room. Cory grips my hair tightly. "Down!" He exclaims. "Down!" I carefully lift him off my shoulders and set him on my hip.

When we get to the art room I find the paint Chase was talking about it and set it up for Cory.

I watch as he slaps the brush in different colors and puts them on the paper. "Hey, Cory. You want to make a handprint?"

He grins and nods his head.

I grab a brush and dip it in blue paint. I brush the cold paint on his hand, causing him to giggle. "It tickle!"

"Okay," I say once I'm done. "One, two, three." I press the little hand on the paper.

When he sees the result he grins and kicks his feet.

As he continues to paint, I notice that he squints at the paper a lot. "There you are." A familiar voice says.

I turn around to see Sophie. "Hey, Soph."

She smiles. "Hi. I'm here to get Cory." She looks to the little boy. "And apparently give him a bath."

She picks him up. "I think you have more paint on you then on the paper, Cor."

He presses his hand to her cheek, when he pulls it away she is left with a multicolored handprint. He giggles.

She sighs. "Great."

As we walk back to Cory's room Chase finds us. She pecks my cheek and looks over at Sophie. "Uh, Soph, you got a little-"

"I know." Sophie says.

"Hey, Chase." I start. "Does Cory have glasses?"

"Um, no. Why?" She asks.

"I just noticed that he was squinting a lot when he was painting."

Chase looks between me and her paint covered little brother. "I'll tell my parents."

*few days later*

America POV:

"Maxon, I'm going to take Cory to the eye doctor." I kiss the top of his head and walk to the door, but stop when he doesn't say anything. "Maxon?"

He looks up from the papers. "Huh? Oh, okay. Yeah."

I sigh and walk over to him. "What are you looking at, darling?"

"Just something from New China. They are informing me of their neighbors." He leans back in his chair and pinches the bridge of his nose.

"Well who are their neighbors?" I ask lifting the paper.

"Aardoni," he says. (Pronounced Are-don-ee)

"What are they doing that they are so concerned about?"

He sighs. "I'm not sure. I think maybe a way to unite our countries."

I raise an eyebrow. "Well, what's so bad about that?"

He sighs. "America. I don't want to untie our countries together. They are very... medieval."

"What?"

"They untie by marriage, as many do. But their marriages aren't what we want to put any one through." He looks up at me. "The King, I've heard, has many mistresses. They only marry to have heirs."

I sit on the desk in front of him. "And I'm guessing those heirs have to be boys?"

He nods. "I'm afraid so."

"But, Charlie is married. Chase is engaged. How does this affect us?"

"It may effect our grandchildren." He stands and kisses my forehead. "It's nothing to worry about, my dear. Not right now. We will tell Chase and Alec when they take the thrown."

I sigh. "Okay... Do you want to come with me to Cory's the eye doctor?"

He takes my hand. "Let's go."
