1 year and a half later-Alec, Chase and Charlie are 19, Xander is 20, Cory is a little older than 3, Teddy is 10 and May (Alec's sister) is 15
Chase POV:
"Oh my god, yes," I say, looking down at Alec, who is down on one knee, holding a ring box open to me.
He grins and stands, he presses his lips to mine and slips the ring on my finger. "Alec," I whisper.
"Yeah?" He asks through the kiss.
I giggle and pull away, "that's the wrong hand."
His eyes widen and he looks down at my right hand. "Shit, sorry."
I take it off and slide it onto the right finger.
I look up at him and I start giggling, he laughs too. "I can't believe I just did that." He gasps out between laughs.
"What?" I ask. "The proposal, or the wrong hand, thing?"
He kisses my lips, "both."
I take his hand, "come on, let's go tell my family."
We run from the field and to the castle. I burst into my parents' office to see Charlie and Xander there with them.
Their heads snap up, "Chase?" My mom asks. "Are you okay?"
I hold up my left hand, "we're engaged!" A smile takes over my face as Alec kisses my temple.
Charlie and my mom run over to us, enveloping us in hugs. "Let me see! Let me see!" My sister exclaims grabbing my hand.
"Oh, it's so beautiful." My mom says. "Good choice."
Alec laughs, "it was my dads choice actually. This was my mother's engagement ring, he surprised her on their wedding day with her current ring and she gave this to me."
I turn to face him. "Really?"
He nods. "Yep."
My dad and Xander walk over to congratulate us as well. Dad hugs me tightly, "I don't know how I'm going to let you go."
I laugh, "I'm not going anywhere, daddy."
He kisses the top of my head, "I know, but... it's going to be different."
Charlie's eyes widen and she runs out of the room, the door slams behind her.
We turn to face Xander, he scratches the back of his neck. "Excuse us for a minute, will you?" He rushes after his wife.
"How about you two go tell your family, Alec, and when you get back we can celebrate?" My dad suggests.
"Can we bring them here?" I ask. "I think it's time for you to meet them."
My mom nods, "of course. I'll tell the chef."
"Chase," my dad stops us as we walk out, "I want you to take a car."
I stop, "why?"
He walks over and brushes a hair out of my face. "Because once you walk out this door, you're life is in danger and now that you two are engaged, so is Alec and his family."
"A car?" Alec asks.
I sigh, "it's a car with bullet prof windows and guards will come with us." I turn back to my dad. "But, won't that attract more people and paparazzi?"
He nods, "it will. But it will keep you safer."
I sigh, "how about we walk there and take one back?"
My dad groans, "very well but a guard will come with you."
When we get to his house I tell the guard to stay outside.
Alec opens the door to his house. "Mom! May! Teddy!" He yells. "Come here!"
Heavy footsteps tell me that they probably knew about it. His mom makes it to us first. "Well?"
I hold up my hand, "you're stuck with me now."
She laughs and hugs both of us, she kisses Alec's cheek. "Congratulations, Alexander. Your father would be so proud of you."
May comes down the stairs, "she said yes?" I nod. She grins and tackles me into a hug. "I have a sister! I've always wanted a sister!"
Teddy walks down the stairs, "what's going on?"
Alec smiles at his little brother, "Chase and I are getting married. Isn't that great?"
Teddy's face falls, he looks down at his feet. "Yeah, that's great."
Alec looks confused, "Ted, what's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong." He says looking up, his eyes are red. "I said it's great." I can see he's trying not to cry.
"And," I say, trying to take the attention away from Teddy, I can tell he doesn't want it, "my parents want to meet you. And my sister and her husband are there as well."
Molly's face pales, "what?"
My face must look panic stricken. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong, dear. It's just that... well to start with what do I wear and what do I bring and-"
I laugh and cut her off, "you can wear whatever you want. And you don't need to bring a thing."
About an hour or so later we are walking out of the house and into the car. "Sorry about the people." I say.
Molly waves me off, "don't worry about it dear."
When Alec sits next to Teddy, he moves to the other side of his mother, as if he wants to get as far away as possible from me and Alec.
I take Alec's hand and look to his family. "When you meet my parents, just call them by their name. You're going to be family." They all nod except Teddy, he just sits there.
I lead them into the sitting room when we arrive at the castle. My parents stand, I notice that they are wearing simple outfits. My mom in a skirt and my dad in nice pants and a button up shirt.
"Hello," my mom says. "I'm America and this is Maxon."
Molly nods, "I'm Molly and this is May and Teddy."
"Where's Charlie?" I ask.
"She'll be down soon. She isn't feeling well." Mom says.
I nod, "okay."
"Alec!" My little brother's voice rings through the castle.
Alec bends down, Cory runs into his arms. "Hey buddy."
"This is my brother Cory." I tell them. "Cory, this is Alec's mommy and brother and sister." My mom says. "Can you say hi?"
"Hi," Cory says quietly.
Alec tickles his stomach, "you being shy, huh?"
Cory seems to be studying Molly before reaching his arms out to her. Molly smiles and takes him into her arms, "oh, it's been awhile since I've held a baby." She grins.
Cory determines her fit to hold him and he settles himself in.
"Well," I start, "shall we eat?"
During dinner our parents tell embarrassing stories about us as kids.
Molly laughs, "oh one of my favorite moments was when we got home from the hospital with Alec after he was born. You started to cry and your dad about had a panic attack. I made him lay down so he wouldn't fait."
"Why did he panic?" Alec asks.
"Because it was our first time alone with you when you were crying, we didn't have the nurses to help if we messed up." Molly laughs. "Another great moment was when Teddy kicked for the first time. Alec was so excited and May started crying."
May laughs, "why?"
"You thought I ate the baby." We all burst out laughing, except Teddy. He just sits there, picking at his food.
"So, where do we go from here? As far as where where I'm staying?" Alec asks.
Teddy's head snaps up, listening intently.
My dad sighs, "well, as you may know, during the selection, the boys would have gone through different training. What you have to decide is if you want to do it now before you get married or after."
I but in, "when are you giving us the crown?"
My dad laughs, "not too soon, darling. But a couple years after you get married I assume."
Alec nods, "well, I think it would be best if I stayed here to do those lessons and help with the wedding."
Teddy slams his fork down and stands sharply, glaring at me and Alec. "Theodore!" Molly exclaims.
He storms out of the room, the door slamming behind him.
Molly looks horrified at her youngest son's actions. "I am so sorry for his behavior."
My parents wave her off. "Don't worry about it." Dad says.
May stands, "I'll go check on him. Excuse me."
May POV:
When I walk out of the dining room I look around. "Great, Teddy, you had to run awake in a freaking castle." I sigh.
"Need help, miss?" A voice says from behind me, they sound handsome just by their voice.
I turn around to see a guard walking towards me, he can't be older than 16. I nod, "yes, did you see my brother run out of here?"
He nods, "yes, I did miss. He went this way. Follow me, miss."
"It's May," I laugh. "No, miss, just May."
He laughs as well. "I'm afraid I have to call you that Miss May."
"Well, can you tell me your name, at least?" I ask.
"Harrison Johnson at your service." He says.
I giggle, "well it's very nice to meet you."
"He ran into the gardens." He says.
"Huh?"
"Your brother?" He laughs.
I nod, "oh, right. Well, thank you, Harrison. Will I see you again?"
He nods, "I will make sure it happens."
Teddy is laying on the ground, I walk over and lie next to him. "Hey."
"What's wrong?"
"I don't want them to get married!" He explodes.
I open my mouth to respond but someone else beats me to it. "Why
not?"Chase walks over and sits next to us.
"Because I don't want to lose Alec! I already lost a dad that I don't even remember!" A tear leaks from his eye. "I don't want to lose the closest thing I had a to a dad. I always go to him when I need help, what am I going to do know?"
Chase sighs, "I'm not taking him away from you. I know how you feel. When Charlie got married I didn't know what I was going to do. But when I saw how happy he made her I knew it was the right thing and it made the time we spend together even more special. It'll make you and Alec closer."
He nods, "really?"
"Really and," she adds, "you can steel him away from me anytime or any meeting. You too, May. Now, let's go back to dinner. We have chocolate cake waiting for us."
