Chase POV:
It's the day before my 16th birthday and I head out to meet Alec, Jack and Erin. "Chase!" he yells. I run and jump into his arms, "Happy birthday baby."
"Thank you." I say pecking his lips.
He sets me down and I run over to Erin and Jack. "Happy birthday." They both say as I hug them.
"Thanks." I say.
We sit on the blanket and I open the presents from everyone.
I open Jack's first, it's a photo album. I look at him questionably, "just open it." he says.
I open it to see a baby picture of Alec, "aww..." I say.
"Jack... what did you do?" Alec says.
I page through the pictures, they are all really embarrassing pictures of him. One of my favorites is him at his birthday party and he fell asleep in his cake. "You are so cute!" I exclaim.
There is another picture of him and his dad, "I like this one." He says.
His dad is holding him and he is pointing at a baby in a hospital, it must be May.
"I do to." I say.
I page through and I see Jack when they were younger, then I start to see Erin in some of them. "Ok this is my favorite!" I exclaim.
It's Jack and Alec standing completely naked in one of their back yards, they look 3 years old. (A/N: this is a real picture I have of my brother and his friend so funny! The friend put the picture on display at his graduation.)
"Jack!" Alec exclaims.
"What I had to man!" he exclaims.
Erin leans over and whispers, "at least we know what we are getting..."
"Erin, there like 3 years old!" I whisper. We glance at the picture and burst out laughing.
"Thank you Jack," I say hugging him. "I love it."
"Me next," Erin says handing me a small box. I open it to see two bracelets with puzzle pieces on them. "They don't say anything because I didn't want you family-"
I wrap my arms around her, "I love it." I take out the bracelets and put one on her wrist and she puts the other on mine. "Thank you so much."
Alec looks to me and pats his lap, I crawl over and sit in his lap. "Close your eyes..."
"They're closed." I whisper.
"Hold out your hands," he says, I hold out both of my hands in front of me. He places a rectangular box in my hand. "Open them." He whispers in my ear, my breath tickling my ear.
I open my eyes and open the box to see a beautiful gold necklace. "Alec..." is all I can say.
"My dad gave it to my mom when they were about our age," he says taking the necklace and putting it on my neck. I pull my hair out of the way.
"How did you get it? I'm sure your mom misses it." I tell him.
"In my dad's will, he left it to me." He tells me.
"Alec, I can't take this." I say. "It means too much to you."
"You are one of the most important things to me. And I want to give it to you, I love you. Just as my father did my mother." He says kissing my cheek.
"I love you too." I say. I turn around and press my lips to his.
"Jack, Erin... you guys can go." Alec says pulling away for a breath.
I stand up and hug them goodbye. "I love you guys."
"Happy birthday." Jack and Erin say.
"Have fun," Jack adds and then they walk off.
I go back over to Alec and sit next to him. "Oh I got this for Charlie." He says handing me a box.
"What is it?"
"A bracelet with a 'c' charm." He says.
"I think she'll like it," I tell him.
We are quite for a few minutes, "hey," he says. I turn to face him, "I love you."
"I love you too," I say.
Alec presses his lips to mine. I kiss back and climb on top of his lap and push him down so his is on his back. He flips us over he is on top of me.
I love the way Alec kisses me, it's like he is never going to see me again. Like he never wants to loose me. I feel all of his love through one touch, but when he kisses me... it's a whole different feeling. I can't explain it but it fills me with so much happiness and love and... I can't explain it! I giggle into the kiss.
"What's... so... funny?" Alec says in between breaths.
"I don't... really know..." I say laughing.
He rolls off of me and props himself up on his elbow. "Happy birthday."
"Thanks," I say.
"So what is your party going to be like?"
"Long," I say.
"Come on, tell me about your dress." He says.
I laugh, "well my dress is purple and has sparkles going down it. It's not too big, my parents and maids know I hate it when my dress is too big."
"Why do you hate it?"
"Because it's hard to dance with all the hot guys that ask me to dance." I smirk at him.
"Hey, not funny." He says.
"You know I love you." I say.
"Yea but I still don't like it." he says.
"It won't lead to anything you know because I have to do the Selection."
He flinches, "let's not talk about that right now. Please? It's your birthday let's not have a big discussion."
"Yea sorry..." I say.
He kisses my forehead.
We talk for a little while when I say, "I need to get back. I have a dinner to get to."
He groans, "fiiine."
We say our goodbyes and I head up to that castle. "I love you." I say one last time, then I head into the castle.
