Chapter 95 - Rainy Day Shenanigans

It starts as a quiet morning—too quiet.

Kakashi and Mayumi wake up to the sound of heavy rain tapping against the roof. For once, there's no mission, no prank war, no Hokage emergencies. Just the two of them and a cozy little house that smells like fresh tea and damp earth.

Mayumi insists on making breakfast, which Kakashi allows despite the "incident with the flaming toaster." He watches from the kitchen table as she dramatically flips pancakes while narrating like a cooking show host. ("And now we FLIP with the elegance of a swan and the chaos of a kunai—")

One pancake lands on the ceiling. Kakashi doesn't say a word. He just calmly sips his tea.

Later, Mayumi dares him to play a board game she found in a dusty drawer. It's called "Romance or Nonsense," and it's supposed to be for couples to "learn more about each other." Kakashi suspects it's actually a trap.

Halfway through the game, Mayumi asks: "What's something I do that secretly drives you crazy—in a good way?"

Kakashi raises an eyebrow. "Just one thing?"

She throws a pillow at him.

The game ends with no clear winner and a lot of laughing.

As the rain continues, they curl up under a blanket on the couch. Mayumi's head rests on Kakashi's chest while he reads (a real book this time—not one of her prank romance novels).

She hums quietly, tracing little circles on his arm. "We should have more boring days like this."

Kakashi smiles, pressing a kiss to her temple. "You're the least boring person I've ever met."

Mayumi pretends to be offended. "Excuse you, I am exceptionally boring when I want to be."

Another kiss, this time on her cheek. "Prove it."

She yawns exaggeratedly, stretching like a lazy cat. "Mmm... so boring... so dull..."

"Still failing," Kakashi murmurs.

Mayumi laughs and kisses him, just once, soft and slow. "What about now?"

Kakashi pulls her closer. "I stand corrected."

And outside, the rain keeps falling.
