After the night we spent together, Collin and I had spent a lot more time together. I hardly saw the boys since the day of the fair. I talked to them in Mr. Ozarka's class, of course. I spent more time during breaks with Collin's friends. I still felt awkward around them, and the girls were still rude. Nothing about the cheerleaders' attitude changed. The football guys on the other hand did change, once they got to know me. I had their respect. Collin would tease me, and they would have to stop it before it got too out of hand. Maybe that's why they were more respectful, they felt sorry for me. The cheerleaders would laugh at Collin's jokes, but I was use to them always laughing. I was on my way to the locker when I bumped into someone.
"Hey stranger," Harry said with a smile.
"I'm not stranger!" I said laughing, giving him a playful nudge.
"You haven't been around as much anymore."
"I've been spending more time with Collin and his friends."
"Ah, the jerks... I mean, jocks."
I laughed at his little joke. "They're actually nicer now. Well, just not the girls."
We stood their in an awkward silence. Until a girl came up and hugged Harry.
"Hi, Harry!" she said, biting her lip after.
The silence went away, but I was still feeling awkward. That was my cue to go. Girls loved Harry, he had some kind of charm, other than just his moves. Everyone thought he was a playboy, but he really wasn't. He was sweet and caring. The best guy I've ever met, besides the other 4 boys. He was there for me when I needed him. Lately, I haven't spoken to him outside of school. We were neighbors but I was always out with Collin, or he was always out. I had this fluttery feeling in my stomach when I thought of Harry. Was I falling for him? No, I couldn't be. I shook the thought out of my head. I was perfectly happy with Collin. Am I lying to myself? No, I wasn't. I shook the thought out of my head as well.
I got home from a long day of school. I got Samson from outside to take him on his walk to go potty. I walked around the block, and once we got back, I went to my room to do my homework. I heard sex noises coming from outside. I heard a girl screaming. I felt disgusted. Sure I had sex, but I sure as hell was not a screamer like this girl. This was just too disturbing! I heard her yell a name. "HARRY!" Eww, gross! This is just to much for me to handle. I couldn't concentrate on my work. I texted Harry to keep his little happy time down. After I sent the text, I heard a loud laugh. I knew he had received it.
I'll keep it down. I can't say any promises about her ;)
Ok, that was just a little inappropriate. I could still hear her. So, with that, I took my homework downstairs to the kitchen. Ah. Peace and quiet. And no freakishly disturbing inappropriate noises. When I finished my homework, I heard a knock on my door. I opened it and it was Harry.
"Hey, sorry for... that earlier," He said, pausing for a few seconds.
"It's fine, I was just trying to do my homework."
"Well, since I'm here, wanna hang a bit?"
"Sure. What should we do?"
"Beach time!," Harry said excitingly.
"It's super cold to be there! Don't you think?"
"Nope. Just dress warm," he said walking backwards down my front porch steps.
With that, I went up to my room and got my warmest jacket. I grabbed Samson and put his collar on. We went in Harry's car and we walked the boardwalk to the pier. We sat at one of the benches. And once again, there was a silence. Until he broke it.
"So, how are you and Collin doing?"
"We're great, actually."
"I still don't get why you took him back. You could do much better than that loser," he said.
"Well, I'm back with him, there's not much you can do now."
"Yes you can! Break-up with him and find a better guy."
"No, Harry. He's being a great guy. He's changed."
"He has not changed. I doubt it, he'll just screw up again."
I frowned at his statement. He must have noticed because he ended up giving me a hug and said he was sorry.
"I just hate seeing you get hurt by someone who's not worth it. Not just me. Niall, Zayn, Liam and Louis would agree."
We stared at the sunset and talked about the most random things. We talked about our most embarrassing moments when it came to dating. One was about a first kiss. We laughed non-stop. He looked into my eyes, and I looked into his. It was the first time I really noticed them. And after that sight, I asked myself why I hadn't noticed them before. They were the best set of eyes I'd ever seen. They were so green, like emeralds. I was just staring into them and I felt like I got lost in a forest of green.
"Wow, your eyes are beautiful."
I was interrupted from my thoughts.
"You have the most beautiful eyes, not like any other brown eyes I've seen."Harry said.
"They're just plain brown," I replied. I looked away from him.
"No, they're like light brown when the sunlight hits them. I'm not one for brown eyes, but they're amazing." he said, grabbing my chin.
I blushed.
"Your eyes aren't so bad themselves either," I said smiling.
He smiled back. We stared at each others eyes a bit more. I felt him leaning in, and so was I. My eyes fluttered, as well as his. I felt a flutter in my stomach again. I felt our lips almost touching, until Samson barked. I jumped back and cleared my throat. I stood up and snapped out of the daze I was in. Harry stood up as well. Had we almost kissed? Thank God Samson barked. What if someone saw? I looked around to make sure no one familiar was around. I didn't want Collin to hurt Harry.
"We should go. I have to feed Sam." I said.
Harry nodded and we left to get the car.

Harry's POV
As we drove home from the beach, there was no conversation going on. I had tried to kiss Lana. I couldn't help it. I just looked into her brown eyes, and I felt different about her. I knew I couldn't have her, she was already with someone she wasn't willing to let go. I parked the car and we both got out.
"Thanks, Hazza. I had a good time," she said shyly smiling.
She didn't even let me open side of the car or walk her to her door.
Later at night, I couldn't stop thinking of her. I always thought she was pretty, but now I thought she was beautiful. I hope I didn't make things too awkward or ruin our friendship. She wouldn't leave my mind. I woke up at 2 a.m. and had to send a text.
I just want you to know, that I'm here for you. I hope what happened earlier doesn't ruin anything between us. See you in a few hours. xx Harry
And with that I fell asleep.
