It had been a week since I saw Alannah and Nick. And every time I turned on the tv or went through my newsfeed on social media, it was always about them and their stupid engagement. Even I got messages asking me about it. There were moments I just wanted to erase her from my life. But when you live in the spotlight, nothing can be erased.
I started getting closer to Shelly. I'd go visit her at her work, get drunk, and she'd help me get home after her work shift. Tonight was no different.
"You want to speak your mind, Harry?" she asked.
She always knew when something was off.
"No," I replied.
"I know you. What's on your mind?"
"Nothing. It's just... nothing," I sighed.
I didn't want to tell her everything that was on my mind. I didn't want to talk about how the girl who's got a hold of my mind at the moment. Nor about her stupid frat boy looking, perfect for her boyfriend. Fiancé. Whatever the hell he was.
"Harry, I can't keep doing this," Shelly said, her voice a whisper.
I looked at her. Not knowing what she was talking about.
"I can't keep pretending. I thought we had a connection. Hell, I thought we had a fun week."
She was right. She's been here for me. Why can't I just see that this cute girl has been there for me since we met. I was wasted, but I failed to realize what I had in front of me in that moment. A girl who has been consistent and was there for me. Even though she was no Alannah O'Malley.
"Come home with me," I told her.
"What?"
"Come home with me."
She smiled and started to get ready to leave. This would be the first time she'd actually go into my place. I was nervous, but I knew that it meant I was one step closer to forgetting Alannah. And that's exactly what I wanted to do. Was to forget her.
————————————————————Unlocking my front door, I rushed to get inside with Shelly. We had kissed as soon as she closed up the door to the bar. We got into a cab and everything got heated. I removed her jacket as she stayed latched on my lips.
"Harry, what has gotten into you?" She asked out of breath.
"Nothing, it's just, you make me feel different. I can't explain it."
"Are you sure? It seems out of nowhere," Shelly said in between kisses.
"Yes. Just let me show you how I feel."
I was acting a bit erratically, but I needed to feel the touch of another woman that wasn't Her's. Damn you, Alannah, for having this hold on me.
Shelly and I started removing our clothes, and next thing we knew, we were intwined in each other.

(Shelly's POV)
I knew something was off. But I couldn't help but admire this gorgeous man's face. His hot sweaty curls brushed up on my chest as he moved around in his sleep. I had grown fond of Harry, but I knew I was invisible to him. Alannah was his first real love. I knew I couldn't compete. But why else would he always come to me.
I've come to admire this boy. Lord knows I deserve it after the hell I've gone through. I knew he had used me to forget her tonight. And I was ok with that, because I knew that one day he'd see what I could be to him.
The sun shinned through his window, waking up those beautiful emerald eyes he had. Would he remember what he did to me last night? Did he remember how we made each other feel?
"Good morning, beautiful," his raspy voice said.
