Chapter 62: Prom?

It was a few days before Prom. I got picked up from school by my mom. She dropped me off at home, telling me she had to run some errands. When I got to the porch, there were rose pedals everywhere. I opened the door and saw more at the entrance. There was a trail leading me up the stairs. When I got up, they led me to my room. The door was closed, but I noticed a note stuck to my door.

"Open the door to find your next clue," I read out loud.

I did as the note said. There was a big surprise waiting for me. I walked to my nightstand, where a bouquet of roses. Next to them was a card with my name on it. I opened it to read what was inside.

"Take us to where you eat, so you can feed us."

It had the flower food attached to it. So, I went down stairs to the kitchen where there was a vase already out. Another note was in the vase.

"There's another note on the faucet for you, after you're done with the roses."

Sure enough, another note was found. After putting the roses in the vase, I put the food in and placed it where sun hit them.

"Rub a dub dub. Find the next clue near the tub."

I walked back upstairs to my bathroom and opened the door. Candles were lit up everywhere. It looked beautiful. I noticed the tub also full with rose petals. There was the note, floating in the water and laminated.

"Bay is to ocean as bathtub is to..."

He was using comparisons. I had to think for this one. But it was obvious. Down the stairs I went and opened the back sliding door. The water sparkled as the sun was coming down. Our fairy lights were on and candles floated above the pool water.

There was a big white paper banner on the wall with blue letterings.

"Alannah, will you go to Prom with me?"

Harry stood by the right side of the banner in a button up shirt. I smiled and walked to him. We kissed and hugged.

"Yes, I'd love to go to Prom with you," I said, looking in his eyes.

They sparkled cheerily. Boy was I in love with them and everything else about him.
