Chapter 27: Telling Liam (Harry's POV)

    I had been spending time with Amber more and more. It was a Saturday afternoon, I was going to go see a movie with Amber. We were going to go watch Easy A. Chick flick, but I wanted her to pick so I was ok with it. We were going to go at the 6:15 showing. I showered and got dressed. I was going to stop by Liam's house before to hang out a bit. As I walked out of my house, I saw Alannah walk out of her's. She had Samson on his lead. She ran down the porch steps and stopped in her tracks once she saw me. I take it she was going on a run. She was wearing running shorts and a tank top

"Hey," she said.

"Hey. Going on a run?" I asked.

"Yeah, to clear my mind from things."

"Wanna talk?"

"No, I won't take your time. You look a bit busy."

"We can still talk if you want. I mean what I say when I say I'm here for you."

She hesitated.

"Come on, let's go. We're walking though," I said taking her hand. 

I felt a spark, and I knew she felt it too. The same spark we always get when we touch.

    We walked and talked about her missing her grandma. I comforted her when she'd cry. I hated seeing her cry, it pained me. We walked about 3 blocks and went back to our homes.

"Thanks, Harry. You're a great friend. You're always there when I need you," she said, doing a half smile.

"You're welcome," I said, pulling her into a hug.

"I'll let you go. Bye," she said pulling away and walking to her door.

I'll always be just a friend. I thought about Amber, which made me smile. I got into my car and drove to Liam's.

"So you really like Amber, huh?" Liam asked.

"Yeah. She's really down to earth. She's beautiful too."

"What about Alannah?"

"What about her?"

"You like her. I know you do. You guys have some weird chemistry."

"I mean yeah, I like her. As a friend though."

"Bro, you can't fool me. I know you like her more than a friend," Liam said chuckling. 

"Yeah, so what. I'll always be friend zoned. She loves Collin, she'll never let him go."

"You never know Haz. I can tell she likes you too."

"How do you know?"

"She has this look in her eyes when she looks at you. I could tell you both like each other."

   Was it true? Did she really like me? Could I really have a chance with Alannah? I doubted it. I looked at the time and it was 5:50. I had to go get Amber. I said goodbye to Liam and his family, then went on my way.

"Thanks for bringing me Harry," Amber said as we took a seat in the theater room, sipping on her soda.

"You're welcome," I said smiling.

"You're the only guy, well person at school besides the boys, that pays attention to me."

"You're so beautiful, though."

"Thanks." She said blushing."So you excited to go to London?"

"Yeah, real excited. Sorry I can't be around."

"Ah, it's ok."

   I saw someone at the corner of my eye who caught my eye. I turned my head that way and I saw Alannah. She was with Collin. They both looked at me, Collin gave me a death glare. Alannah diverted her eyes to Amber. She looked pretty in her dress she was wearing. Collin pulled her by the hand and sat two rows right in front of us. The lights dimmed and the movie started.

    When the movie ended, I saw Collin and Lana kissing. It stung, but I got up. Amber followed.

"Harry, let me use the bathroom before we leave."

I nodded.

"Hey, Hazza," I heard behind me. I turned around and saw Alannah.

"Hey."

I looked at Collin, and he looked bored. Slightly annoyed too, as always. He was the grumpiest guy I'd ever seen. I don't get what Alannah sees in him.

"Nice shoes," she says. I looked down and noticed we were both wearing white Converse.

"Yours too," I said chuckling.

"Oh, how awesome! Oh my God, you guys are wearing the same necklace. Wow, you guys are like twins!" Collin said mocking us.

Alannah frowned.

"Where'd you get that lame necklace anyways?"

"Harry gave it to me. I like it, it's not lame," she said defending me. "It means a lot to me, be nice about it."

She looked hurt. She mouthed 'sorry' to me. I just shrugged. I was use to hearing Collin be so negative. Out of nowhere, I felt a hand on my back.

"I'm back," Amber said. 

I turned to look at her. Then looked back at Alannah, who was just standing there with a sad expression.

"Hi, Alannah," Amber said.

"Hi." she said back, quietly.

"Hey, aren't you the other captain?" Amber said to Collin.

"Yeah. You are?"

"Amber," she said extending her hand for him to shake. He looked at her hand and rolled his eyes.

"Nice name. You going out with this loser?"

"Harry isn't a loser. He's the nicest guy at school. The only one who's really been there to show me around. And no, we're friends."

"Collin, would it kill you to be nicer to Harry?" Alannah asked.

Collin just laughed.

"Well, we should go. See you Haz." Alannah said hugging me, I hugged back.

She grabbed Collin's hand and walked away.

"We should go to," Amber said. We started walking.

I saw Alannah look back at us, she was a couple feet away. She looked heartbroken and sad. She was probably still sad by the death of her grandmother.

    I dropped Amber off and she kissed me on the cheek goodbye before she went in her house. I walked to my car and thought about her. I thought about Alannah as well. I still loved Alannah, despite the fact I really liked Amber. I got home and texted Amber until we went to sleep.
