It had been a little over a month since I finally made Shelly mine. She was the nicest person I'd ever met. When Alannah fainted, she was concerned for her. She had checked her pulse to see if it was too fast or too slow. Even grabbing her a water.

*Flashback*

"Do you think she's ok?," Shelly asked with her eyebrows furrowed.

"I mean, she might wake up with a bad hangover and a small concussion..." I said, in the car.

"What?!"

"I'm joking. She'll be fine, love."

I was currently getting ready for our Fourth of July celebrations. Shelly had stayed back, as it was kind of a last minute thing. She couldn't get work off at such short notice. Should she even be working there anymore? My mind has been all over the place all day.

Shelly and I had Facetimed the night before. She had told me that she hadn't had her period this last month. I didn't really know how to feel. Were we ready to have a child together? We had just started dating. It was all so sudden.

Niall had mentioned to me that Alannah was going to be here too. I hadn't talked to her since she fainted. Sometimes I'd wonder what she was doing. I thought about unfollowing her on Instagram, but I knew that was my only way of seeing that she was ok. She always posted pictures of Nick. They seemed inseparable.

"LANA!," I could hear Louis yell.

I looked in his direction, only to see her hugging him and Liam. Her white dress complimented her tanned skin pretty well. You have Shelly now. I turned my head away when I saw her walking around greeting the other guests.

After a while of conversation with others, Liam clinked his glass.

"Food is ready. Please help yourselves."

I make my way to the food tables as everyone else has already piled in and formed a line. I get stuck behind Alannah, and I could hear greeting Gigi. Gigi asks her about her ring, and I can't help but interrupt.

"Where's Nick?," is what comes out of my mouth.

"Hi, Harry... Uhm, he's filming right now. For a show."

"I see," is all I say.

"How's Shelly?," she asks.

"She's good," I say, making only small talk.

"I haven't seen her around."

"She's actually not her. She stayed back in London."

"I see. How are you guys doing?"

"Pretty good. We moved in together about a week ago," I say.

"That's good."

I left out the part where she might possibly be pregnant. Alannah doesn't need to know that. It's none of her business. I felt myself becoming bitter. But I keep the conversation going. We reach for the same spoon, my hand laying on top of hers. The numbness I felt for her suddenly goes away and I feel a spark. But she quickly pulls away.

"How about you and Nick?," I ask, diverting the attention to her and her fiancé.

"We're good. Just wedding planning. Big day happening in October."

I wonder if she'll invite me to her wedding. She probably doesn't even want me there. I still just can't believe that she's getting married. So quickly, to someone she'd just met. Then again, that could be me soon too. I think about the night we spent with each other right before she got engaged. I break my train of thought and the awkward silence that was going on.

"Well I guess I'll see you around. Niall said you're staying the night here."

"Oh, yeah. Zayn insisted," she said.

"Gotcha," I say.

We stand there quietly and awkwardly again until we walked away from each other. I sit at the fire pit, and watch her grab a drink. She makes her way over to the pit and sits directly across from me. We lock eyes for a moment, only to look away and converse with others around us.
