We were in the SUV today, I never really understood why dad insisted on it. "We must not let these people think they EVER stand a chance." I chuckle to myself softly as I look at my siblings who also roll their eyes. Piper was reading a book as usual, Lochlan watching stuff on his iPad, and Saxon was texting, "A babe". Whatever that meant.
We pulled into the fresh produce market and dad parked with a sigh. "Let's get in and get out.. please Victoria." he says to Mom who rolls her eyes and hops out.
"Tim you need to calm down. Just enjoy shopping for once, there's barely anyone here and the suns shining." She says gesturing around us.
"Yeah dad, breath in the fresh air." Saxon says playfully squeezing his shoulders. Dad glares at him in annoyance making me chuckle. I hug him from behind tightly. "It'll be ok, we all hate living in the city for work. Soon enough we'll be back home in Carolina..." I murmur into his back. He seems to relax when I say that and pats my head softly with a nod. We head inside and as per usual Mom takes literally forever to shop for groceries. We're all practically dragging our feet through the store now.
"What do you guys want for dinner?" Mom asks, two baskets full of groceries now.
"Anything Victoria... Literally anything." Dad says massaging the bridge of his nose. I can't help but hold back a laugh despite my tiredness.
Mom huffs, and heads to the register, she looks at us expectantly and points to the groceries. I start helping my siblings put everything on the terminal to be scanned. Once we're done I put everything in grocery bags and put everything in the basket before pulling them to the car as dad pays. My siblings and I stuff everything inside the car and.. with a struggle.. shut the trunk. We hop inside tiredly and relax In the back seat. Dad hops in the driver seat with an annoyed grunt. Mom smiles happily, "I'm so glad we got that out the way. We should just eat out tonight, it's too late to cook anyway." She smiles.
I nod In agreement and my other siblings look just as excited at the idea. "Alright, let's vote Pizza, Hamburgers, or Tacos!"
"Tacos!" We yell in unison to which dad smiles.
"Tacos it is then my loves." He starts up the truck and heads to our favorite taco spot. We cheer happily. We get our tacos and head home. We laugh and hang out as we eat before we all head to bed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hey guys, been forever.😭 Thanks for reading 🧡
