"Why—why has Cardan's tail been wagging for three days in a row?" Muttered Vivi, looking over at Heather with a concerned yet slightly amused look on her face.
"He's . . . a little overwhelmed," She responded, a the hint of a smile tugging at the corner of her lip, making Heather narrow her eyes in suspicion.
"Overwhelmed why, exactly?" She asked, quirking an eyebrow that had a hint of pink on it.
Why, you may ask? Well, you see, Heather may or may not have convinced Vivi to get just a tiny chunk of her hair dyed pink so they could match, since Vivi hadn't wanted to get all her hair coloured, much unlike her girlfriend, and a bit of the colour has dripped onto her eyebrow.
"Jude smiled at him," said Oak, grinning at them from the table where Jude and Cardan were currently fighting over the last chicken nugget.
The moment the words left his mouth, the couple immediately stopped bickering to stare at him, dumbfounded.
For different reasons, of course.
A pink hue started creeping up Cardan's neck as his tail started violently wagging again, knocking over one of Oak's figurines from the small table under the TV that was right behind his chair, causing Oak to scowl at him.
Jude, meanwhile, simply quitked an eyebrow and stared at him with a smirk, to which he let out an awkward chuckle.
"Would you believe that this blushing man is the High King of all of Elfhame and once ripped off a fae's wings for not bowing down to him?" Oak said, silently snickering under his breath, his shoulders shaking with the effort to hold in his laugh.
"No. No, I would not," said Vivi. "I absolutely, totally, most definitely would not."
