Cardan was in his chambers, bored out of his mind, going through all of Jude's swords. And, yes, she kept all of them in their chambers, because, duh.

Suddenly, he heard two pairs of footsteps in the hallway right outside the main doors of the chambers. He heard Jude's voice, saying something to The Bomb. "I mean, look, I know he's a red flag, but he's my red flag, if you know what I mean."

Jude had taught him some new mortal slang a few days ago. He had to keep up, of course. He was the High King, for God's sake.

'Red flag, red flag...' he thought to himself, trying to recall what it meant. 'A bad quality!' he thought, grinning to himself at the aspect of having gotten it right.

"Wha-- I-- you just called me a bad quality! I have the right to be furious!"

She crossed her arms over her chest, quirling an eyebrow at him. He blushed even more furiously, "You did call me yours, though."

Her arms dropped to her sides, coming up in his direction in a choking action, quite literally choking the air, "I will stab you--"

"Promise?" he beamed at her, bouncing a bit on the balls of his feet.
