16. Farewell To Storyville

A child Rebekah let out a frightened gasp as the storm outside got worse, hearing his sister's whimpering, child Klaus got up from where he was laying and slowly made his way over to his sister, "Hush now, it's just a storm" Klaus assured Rebekah, "Don't be afraid, I won't let it hurt you".

"Nik, don't go" a terrified Rebekah called out, seeing her brother crawl away from her.

Klaus quickly grabbed a wooden toy from the basket near him and came back to his sister, "I carved it for father" Klaus informed, handing Rebekah the wooden toy, "It's a brave knight, now you can be brave too".

Rebekah held the knight to her chest, "Will you stay with me till the storm ends?".

Klaus grabbed Rebekah's hand, "I will always stay with you Rebekah, no matter what".

Rebekah looked at the knight in her hand and then at her brother, a smile forming on her face.

"Rebekah!" Klaus yelled, glaring at his sister who stood infront of him with Elijah and Lily by her side.

"Rebekah, go!" Lily ordered.

"Don't move!" Klaus warned Rebekah.

"Leave us now" Elijah told Rebekah.

"I can't, we're stuck here" Rebekah informed, before her eyes landed on the stake in Klaus hands, "Elijah, he has a white oak stake".

"I brought it for you, sister" Klaus revealed, taking small steps towards Rebekah.

"If you can't leave the cemetery, at least leave his sights" Lily told Rebekah, "The longer you stay infront of him, the more angry he gets, let us handle him, you try to stay alive", Rebekah nodded her head before speeding away, Klaus tried to follow her but Lily quickly stepped infront of him, "Klaus, please, just listen to me, okay? Killing Rebekah isn't going to solve anything".

"You would side with that traitor?" a hurt Klaus asked Lily.

"I am not on any one of your sides" Lily stated, "You're hurt, you have every reason to be hurt, I understand that, you want to punish Rebekah, fine, go ahead, but killing her is not the way to go about this".

Klaus stared at Lily for a moment, "We cannot leave this cemetery, Lily" he reminded, "How long do you think you and Elijah can defend her?".

Klaus speeded away and Elijah quickly followed after him, "As long as it takes, by whatever means necessary" Elijah stated.

"Klaus, come on" Lily pleaded, "It's been hours, please give me the stake, I can't fight you and neither will you fight me, how exactly are you planning on getting past me?".

"I don't have to hurt you to get past you, Lily" Klaus said, "Like you said, it's been hours, and you're pregnant, you're exhausting yourself".

"Fine, you might be able to get past me, but you won't be able to get past Elijah" Lily pointed out.

Klaus looked at Elijah, who was standing behind Lily, "I could get past you, although it might have to be over your dead body, you did stab me with that blade, forcing me to endure hours of unspeakable pain, perhaps I should direct my rage toward you".
