A/N: wow yes, I suck at updating, especially recently. Can't believe it's been so long since the last update. Well here it is now, thank you for your patience! Please feel free to leave me feedback :]

By the end of the day, Meg, Christine, and Constance had gotten the routine down pretty well considering two of the three had never seen the ballet before. The performance of Il Muto was going to be an exciting one considering they had never done a classic such as this before at the opera house. With the Viscount de Chagney supplying the theatre with extra funds, the Opera Populaire was sure to have new costumes, new plays, and even new stars in its grasp unlike it ever had before. Unfortunately, Carlotta would not give up her role as prima donna, especially after the Phantom had made several notes claiming Carlotta was to give her role to Christine.

Unknown to the girls who were giggling and practicing their new ballet routine, the Phantom was hard at work to make sure his plans with Christine were still underway. He knew of how the managers had brushed his warnings aside and continued to make Carlotta the leading soprano. Why they continued to do this was beyond him, for even if she could learn her pitch and act correctly, she had a horrible attitude and the managers had to keep buying her favor in return to selling seats. As they had witnessed, Christine could do all of that and more without causing the managers such a headache and yet they still want Carlotta as the star. Morons, all of them.

Erik watched Christine carefully as Meg and Constance were also dancing for their positions in Il Muto. He was at first furious that Christine was not his star and was about to cause havoc as soon as he heard but decided to wait and see if he could use other tactics that were more animalistic. He sighed to himself, wondering how Christine felt about having the silent role, if she knew about that already that is. Perhaps she did not know yet; he could not be sure himself what exactly was being said to her despite his best efforts. He knew Mme. Giry gave her his note that he sent her with earlier today but she did not do so much as to respond out loud her opinions of it nor look up at Box 5 when she wanted his attention after receiving it. He knew she read it already and had placed the letter under her pillowcase, but was she thinking of him now or was she hiding the memories of him in her mind? Truly she did not suffer when she lived at his home, did she just not favor him?

As he was watching the group of girls take a break, he noticed that Meg told them that they were ready and could participate in practice tomorrow with the rest of the ensemble. Christine was quite happy about this, the angelic smile that spread across her face was a dead giveaway, but he caught Constance looking around, not giving Meg's announcement any thought as she tried to find something. What was she searching for?

"Did you hear me Connie?!" Meg asked loudly causing her question to bounce off of the polished walls.

The brunette had jumped and turned to her friend while she whispered her response causing Meg to nod. The group of girls talked for a few more minutes before Meg began walking away with Christine towards her make shift room, leaving Constance on the stage by herself. A quick thought came to his mind as he turned to one of the little windows by where he was standing, gazing at the sunset outside. The colors of the sky mingled together, forming various shades of orange and red. Erik only could hope Constance would meet him on the roof in a few moments as his note indicated, knowing he had to set things right with the girl and to perhaps use her to his advantage. But he could not blame her if she did not show for he had been most rude and hostile to her back in his home. Collecting his cloak, he quickly wrapped it around his person, making his way through the shadows to the top of the opera house.
