A/N: I would like to apologize for my absence recently. As I've been saying, a lot has been on my plate and it is not the fact that I did not want to continue writing this story because there were many times I had planned on writing this chapter and it had just not happened or there were times when my brain was not working correctly and I had a little case of writer's block. I am happy to announce that I am out of my dry spell (can I use this phrase for writer's block? Oh well, just did) and am finally updating this story. Thank you all for your continuous encouragement, support and the reads. We are now over 3k reads and I am simply blown away by all the support I've received. Thank you, thank you!
"Constance," Firmin exclaimed, causing Constance to break her stare from the crowd applauding her return to the managers beside her, "it is with great pleasure that we welcome you back to the Opera Populaire and that we all here witness you reuniting with your parents, Monsieur Phillipe and Madame Marie Desjardins!"
Her eyes spread wide with anticipation as she turned around hastily, seeing two figures emerge from the side of the crowd and rushing up the grand staircase towards where she stood. Her mother clinging onto her skirts and lifting them to her knees as she ran up with her father following closely behind. Constance could not move, for her excitement to reunite with her parents had left her frozen in place as her parents quickly reached her, embracing her tightly in a hug that had been long overdue. Constance readily accepted their embrace, returning it with just as much love and admiration as the family reunited silently through tears and joy. The room continued its applause as the family was now reunited, especially since now the Desjardins family would no longer be after the managers for money. Phillipe and Marie cried happily while Constance laughed softly at their reunion, all of them oblivious to their surroundings.
Slowly the applause began to die down, the Desjardins continuing their display as the managers began reminding everyone about the rehearsals for Swan Lake and that they were expected to continue whatever it was they had been doing prior. The room began to grow bare all too quickly and once the room had been empty apart from the Desjardins, Madame Giry and the managers, Monsieur Firmin coughed loudly, signifying he would like to make an announcement. The Desjardins smiled happily, the two women wiping their eyes with tears as Monsieur Desjardins coughed himself though no one had dared to completely let go of Constance. It was then she obtained a good look at her parents. Her mother Marie wore a royal blue lace dress which covered her entire person from neck to toe accompanied with a matching hat on top of her thick but pulled back black hair. Hear father Phillipe remained in his usual attire; a black suit with a white undershirt and a single eyeglass upon his left side. Each of them had dark circles under their eyes but they both looked relieved at seeing her. Constance then turned herself around, now positioning herself to stand before her parents proudly.
"Monsieur and Madame Desjardins," Monsieur Firmin began, bowing slightly out of respect for the family, "on behalf of the entire Opera Populaire, I am delighted that Constance has returned safe and sound within these walls."
"Yes," Phillipe Desjardins agreed, squeezing Constance's shoulders gently as he spoke, "it is indeed a happy occasion that my sole daughter has returned unscathed."
Slowly Phillipe turned his daughter around, surveying her eyes for only a moment as he gently spoke, "What happened ma petite fleur? You know that running away like that is unprofessional. Surely you would have thought that everyone here would have been worried sick about you."
"And us my dear," Marie Desjardins interjected, turning her daugther's gaze towards her, "You had to of received my letter telling you we were coming that night. You could have run to us, we could have taken you home for a holiday or even permanently."
