Feitan's POV

Quiet. The room had been quiet for a month. The machines beside the bed continued their slow rhythm and it is the only thing keeping a human alive. Since none of us have experience in actual medical stuff, we have to put Y/n in the hospital.

I looked toward her, peacefully sleeping and hadn't moved a single money and bones. Shalnark said humans sometimes needed time after exhausting all their Nen. In her case, that is what's happening right now.

"Coma." That was the word. For some reason, I find that word annoying and I didn't like it.

The doctors came every morning check her pulse, changed bandages and do whatever a doctor does then left. The only update we get is "We don't know when she'll awake."

Which I find them useless if they can't even predict that thing and I didn't like those words either.

I continued observing her, hoping that when she open her eyes, she would be happy to see me. Happy? Did I really think of that?

I shifted on the chair, obviously uncomfortable and I didn't really understand why I stayed or why I went through with something I don't usually do.

A nurse entered the room and she smiled politely.

"You should get some rest." I didn't look at her face.

"No." I simply stated.

"You've barely slept."

Not that I needed one anyway.

"No."

"I'm pretty sure you haven't eaten much either."

"Am fine."

"I'll bring you something." She sighed.

"Don't."

I saw her looking at me for a moment. "Your girlfriend would probably say the same thing to you."

"..." I finally looked at her. "Girlfriend?"

"Isn't she your girlfriend? I mean, you mostly visit her and take care of her so I assumed she's your girlfriend."

"What's a... girlfriend?" She seemed shocked by my question.

Unfortunately she didn't get to answer because another nurse entered the room and called her.

"Girlfriend..." I muttered.

Later that night, everyone else had already left. Even Danchou and Shalnark, yet only me remains. Danchou hasn't really given us, especially me a mission which I was sort of... thanking.

I watched as the moonlight slipped through the curtains and move across the floor. Hours passed and I didn't even care. I just waited.

A strand of hair fell across her face. Without thinking, I reached forward and carefully brushed away. My hand froze as I remembered she did the same when I was sick in the cabin. I may be unconscious, but I could hear and feel everything she was doing.

I immediately pulled my hand back and stared at it. For some reason, that movement alone somehow made my heart pound. It was a different feeling and I don't really know what to do with these new... feelings.

Love

Maybe this was the love they were talking about. Love is... strange, it makes my chest hurts. The nurse came back again and checked, nothing changes.

"You know..." She stopped by the door and I looked up. "Talking to patients sometimes helps."

That was probably the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard but yet, I'm debating whether to do it or not.
