Grey's Anatomy Season 7 Episode 8

Morning
Cristina and Owen's Firehouse

Boxes everywhere.

Some were stacked against the exposed brick walls.

Others sat half-open across the floor, their contents spilling into a room that still looked more like a construction project than a home.

The firehouse was quiet.

No monitors.

No pagers.

No nurses calling for labs.

No attendings asking questions Cristina already knew the answers to.

No operating rooms waiting downstairs.

Cristina sat alone on the floor in the middle of it all.

Around her were the pieces of a life she and Owen had only just begun unpacking.

She made no attempt to continue.

She simply sat there.

Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital
Third Floor — Lecture Hall

Teddy stood at the front of the lecture hall, Roy Henley's case projected behind her.

"When a heart wasn't available, I opted to continue with Roy Henley's lung transplant..."

Residents and attendings filled the seats before her.

Jackson sat beside April, considerably less interested in Roy Henley's transplant than he was in the fact that his name hadn't appeared on the OR board that morning.

"My name isn't on the O.R. board. I checked the schedule. Nobody wants to work with me, 'cause I'm not on anybody's service."

"It's an oversight, okay?" April whispered. "Just... just ask around."

"Do you know how many things I've screwed up in the last month?"

Meredith had already heard enough.

"Stop it."

"I'm serious."

"Just ask around and get on someone's service and get back to work."

At the front, Teddy continued.

"...suggested no pulmonary sepsis."

The doors opened.

Alex slipped into the row beside them.

April immediately recoiled.

"You smell like you're sweating booze."

Meredith looked over.

"Where have you been?"

Jackson seemed considerably more impressed.

"I want the weekend you had."

Alex dropped into the seat.

"What happens in Vegas, you know?"

Then he remembered the name he'd seen on his assignment.

"Hey, who's Stark? I'm supposed to be on Stark's service today."

April looked over.

"Oh, me, too. He's the new peds attending, since Robbins left."

Alex's face fell.

"Crap." He leaned back. "I can't handle a bunch of sick kids today. I can't do it."
