The next morning we were up and on the road, leading up a narrow path away from Rivendell. A piece of me wanted to stay there with the birds chirping and the warm air but all the same i knew we were on a mission and i'd sworn i would be no burden to them on the road.
Our path lead on for a while, and i said little to nothing to anyone all morning until it had started to rain. The rain became heavy and dripped off the cliffs that had over time turned to jagged rock.
"Curse this blasted rain!" Bofur had said once the wind had picked up as well making the rain feel like stones pelting our skin.
A few minutes later our path was so slippery and all hope seemed lost. The wind was so powerful that breathing became a privilege...
"Come on!" Thorin had shouted behind him. I barely heard the shouted words. All of a sudden, a few members ahead of me, i heard cracking and shouting. My eyes caught sight of Bilbo that was clinging to the shirts of those beside him, his toes over the edge of the rocks.
"Uncle." My lips muttered and i tried to move but i couldn't.... I cant lose anyone else from my family. Nobody else... But he was back on the side, my hand clutching my heart.
"We must find shelter!" I heard a voice shout ahead, my mind praying we'd find the shelter we needed.
But then, all of a sudden, a large rock smacked above our heads. My breath hitched inside me as i looked to the splinting rocks that drew near my frozen wet body. Just before the rocks came to hit beside where my feet were, i felt a hand clasp my shoulder bringing me agaistthe cliff. The arm pushed me so that i was face and hands into the cliff, pinned there. A large rock hit just behind my back and i felt the hard vibrations at my feet when it nocked off some ledge bellow my feet. I exhaled deeply, trying to look at the owner of the hand. It was Fili, his blond hair was clearly visible in the glowing light."Thank You." I choked out as i lifted my hands from the sharp shards.
"This is no..." I heard Balin saying something but then the rest of his words were drowned out by the crack of rocks. Looking up to what seemed to be the top of the cliff, i saw a figure emerge from the side. The head became clear as did the rest of the figure. It moved slowly as it threw rocks around. My heart beated faster than ever once i felt rumbling bellow my feet again. Maybe i would die here? Just a few moments later, another rumble erupted under my feet and i looked down to see cracks forming a few feet away from me. My hands gripped the wet shards of rack as the crack became thicker and more visible. We were moving apart and the company was being split in two. I could see Fili reaching for his brother on the other side of the crack. As we separated, i clutched my eyes shut until the movement slowed just a bit.
When i opened them, it was clear we were on the legs of a stone giant."Mahal." I whispered into my cloak.
"Its fine." Fili said, worry still clearly on his face. I loved the way he spoke to me.
The rocks were crashing and after a moment or two i felt my self actually growing accustomed to the action, the wind, rain, rocks, shouting.... Until i felt the rock tip in such a way that caught me by surprise. We were falling down... Right into another rock.
I felt the sudden urge to vomit at the sight of the nearing rocks but kept my eyes straight a head.
All of a sudden i heard the shouts of the others and felt my legs jumping off the ledge. Adrenaline started to instantly course through my body as i curled my body letting my right side take a harsh blow of jagged rocks. Throbbing pain ran through my side as i reached to clutch some stone, pushing my self up wards as the knee of the stone giant slashed into to cliff bellow me. It had all happened too quick that my heart slowed to a beat once a million years. My face became cold instantly as a feeling of fear pounded in my ears. The knee shifted bellow me. My body still clinging on the the side and voices of dwarves shouting names filled my mind. The rocks then shifted splinting off the shards that held my hands, breaking way and letting me fall right after the knee moved away. My eyes were blurred but i made out the groans and faces of dwarves around my body. I breathed a sigh of relief as my senses cleared and returned to normal, letting me see the faces of the boys. My eyes connected with Fili's and i gave a large sigh, the rain still crashing down on top us. I strangely then noticed the wetness of his whole body, and the way his cloak shaped around his soft features in his face. I was starring for just a second to long without any expression on my face.
