As i finally managed to put away all the stresses of my journey, my eyes began to close for a long sleep until i heard a thundering knock at the door. That same morning i had come knocking on the door, poor Bilbo... And at this time now? For most it was supper time, for me it was sleeping time. I heard Bilbo get up from his table and walk to the door and I didn't really move. Whoever it was, i didn't want any hobbits to see me in a man's bath robe. The door swung open as i could hear and a voice echoing in.
"Dwalin, at your service." The voice was deep, deeper than most hobbits i should think. I faintly heard a little squeak from Bilbo and came to the idea, maybe its not even a hobbit. Maybe someone's come looking for me! But i only stole from a dragon.... That has no friends to come and search for me.
"Hm. Uh, Bilbo Baggins at yours. Do we know each other?" Oh boy... I sat up in the bed and rushed to change into the hobbit woman's dress. Bilbo said he had it put away in a chest and it was my aunts. I put it on, frills around the bottom and sleeves. Also, lace around the chest, revealing a bit more than i liked.
"No. Which way laddie? Is it down here?" The man took heavy steps inside and i felt a bit scared someone could be trying to find me. I rushed out the room as fast as i could and went out to see a massive dwarf. The first thing i noticed was his death expression and the two axes on his back. Okay.
"Is what down where?" Bilbo answered following the dwarf in heavy boots to his supper.
"Supper, he said there would be food and lots of it." I felt so relieved but Bilbo wasn't.
Dwalin sat down to Bilbo's supper and quickly started to stuff his face. It wasn't the first time i've seen a dwarf do this. But wait? Who said?
I walked up closer to him and sat down in the chair across from him. Bilbo gave me a look that said "what are you doing!". I didn't care at all. I cringed at the food being shovelled into his mouth.
"Who? Who said?" I said, my elbows on the table looking at the dwarf in the eyes.
"The wizard of course." He paused for just a second before feasting again. I looked up to Bilbo and he was obviously angry. I heard him mutter something but decided to ignore it. I got up instead and walked to the pantry to snatch some bread and sausage for later... Just in case. A few seconds later i heard another knock on the door. I was deeply confused with their presence and i had to wonder if i did actually bring them here...
In walked another guest.... A series of strange "awws" and "hellos" occured between the dwarves snd then i watched the two smash their heads together. I just sighed and walked out after decided to escort these dwarves out of my defenceless uncle's home.
When i walked a little closer to the procrastinating Bilbo and dwarves in the pantry, i was lost for words and instead planted myself in a chair beside the fireplace. And right before i had set my mind on reading alone and leaving bilbo to his own resources, i heard the ring of the door.
"Can you get that Pilda?" I really didn't want to invite more dwarves into my uncle's home but i did and walking to the door I accidentally fumbled over the dress. Opening the circular door, i fixed my dress with one hand around my waist as the door revealed two attractive dwarves. One blond and one a brunette... I think i was frozen.
"Oh my god." Was all i could muster, interrupting the blond who was introducing himself. My face was getting hot over the terrifying sight of these two. It was a long story but well, without having met them, we certainly knew each other. I waited for a response or even a change in atmosphere but they looked at me with nothing more than a blank stare.
Well. I guess they don't actually recognize me... I glanced down to my dress and brought my hand to my hair, clean for the first time in forever. This must be quite the disguise i've mustered...Why on earth would they have matter to hate me? Let alone, know me? Well, i may have stolen just a small something from them... Just one chest of gold and I'd already used it all up about 5 years ago...
Why did i steal from them? I guess they might not have noticed the lack of one chest of gold from a place near the mountain... In fact, they didn't really own it.
Lately i had not been honest with Bilbo and frankly, nobody. I have secrets beyond secrets that not a sole could even imagine. I have a job and not a friendly job, I'm an assassin.
OU! Well i guess you didn't see that one coming... Or did you. Thats not exactly everything i had planned to reveal about Pilda and her dark secrets so man, I'd really appreciate that you all stick around for the next parts of the fic.
