"How close is the pack" dwalin asked as i slumped back down a set of rocks. I was looking for the Orcs with bilbo that had miraculously caught up with us.

"Too close. A couple of leagues, no more, but that is not the worst of it." Bilbo said, skidding down beside me. My feet planted firmly onto the ground.

"Have the wargs picked up our scent?" Dwalin asked again.

"Not yet, but they will; we have another problem." I said, trying to explain.

"Did they see you? They saw you!" Gandalf said, interrupting me again.

"No thats not it!" Bilbo said, obviously as impatient as i was.

"What did i tell you? Quite as a mouse! Excellent burglar material." He said, making me feel only the tiniest twinge of honour.

"Will you listen- Will you just listen? I'm trying to tell you there is something else out there." Bilbo spat out.

"What form did it take?" Gandalf said quickly. "A bear?"

"Well, yes." I said slightly confused he knew what we saw.

"Yes, but much bigger." Bilbo explained.

The dwarves started babbling but i saw a berry on the ground. Distracted, i leaned down and picked it up, placing the blue berry on my tongue. Blue was my favourite. Most if the others have been red. The berry splashed its flavours across my tongue, the bitter and sweet mingling together as i indulged in the flavours for just a moment.

Its impossible how many berries i've had lately.

"There is a house. Not far from here where we might take refuge." Gandalf voice cut my thoughts. That sounded- pleasant almost.

"What kind of house" i asked suspiciously.

"Whos house? Are they friend or foe?" Thorin nervously asked, eying Gandalf.

"Neither. He will help us or he will kill us."

"Oh. Yes, that sounds nice." I muttered under my breath. "Love being killed by my so called friends. Don't you see how exited i am." Fili must have heard me as he gave me a backwards glance from beside his brother.

"What choice do we have?" Out of nowhere, an echoing roar could be heard from the trees making me tremble visibly remembering the immense bear's figure.

"None." Someone said and with that, we were off. Running through the trees following Gandalf. Branches hit my face until we escaped the trees and found ourselves on the wide plaines. The image of a house could be seen in the distance. The gates, wide open.

Gandalf sputtered things at us as we ran for the house. I saw a figure passing me, Bombur. What?
Ignoring this, i let my heart pound as the great bear stumbled through the trees pounding towards us.

As soon as we reached the gates, we struggled to swing open the door in time to escape our death. When i though we were fine, the large jaws and teeth rumbled at the edge of the door cracks. Paws clawing at the door.

I felt my heart pounding inside my chest as i put my body weight against the hard panels finally managing to close the door.

"What is that?" Someone heaved.

"That... Is our host." I almost felt my jaw drop, the shock hitting me. " "His name is Beorn, and he is a skin-changer."

"Well that is- is..." I sputtered, bewildered with my back to the creature on the other side of the wooden door.
