About an hour or so later, i was gliding across the path surrounded in woods leading away from the pleasant Shire with a herd of Dwarves around me. I looked to the sky and saw grey clouds quickly approaching us and decided it would be best to put on my cloak now so i wouldn't face any rain later.
After i did so, Fili approached me, starting to lead his horse side by side with mine.
"Hello, lass."He said, looking over at me as i slipped my hood over my head at the first feel of a light drop of liquid hitting my forehead. "Why are you wearing such a heavy jacket now? You wouldn't want to hide your face now, would you?"
"Have you not seen the sky?" I gestured to this with a flick of my head. "Theres clouds above us now. Rain clouds at that." He looked up then simply shrugged it off.
"I doubt the rain should bother me much. I've faced more than a few pellets of water before." Fili said with a cocky tone.
"And what have you faced?" I asked with a smirk.
"Orcs... Goblins... A troll or two..." He smiled and looked over to me. "My brother and i were always getting into trouble. Whenever he let his mischievous side show, i walked behind him to clean up his wake."
"Sounds like plenty of work." I tilted my head and Fili drove his horse in closer to mine.
"You couldn't even begin to imagine." He smiled and i laughed under my breath. I looked over at him and examined the way he sat on his horse with a glowing confidence. I liked it.
Then, as his horse swayed to the right, i spotted his braided moustache. I'd never really seen something like it before. I found myself then noticing many things about him i hadn't before, the obviously fit shape of his body, the way his hair was tangled and perfectly gold, the way his nose was shaped to hang above his unique lips. In Fact, i think i may have been staring for a while longer than polite because all of a sudden, Bofur from behind me pipped up with an incredibly rude comment, "You like what you see, Pilda?" I think my face may have turned bright pink with a mixture of anger and emberasment. I quickly turned around to face him with more drops of water clouding all of our eyes. Even Fili had turned to see what was happening with a cheeky look on his face.
"Perhaps i do, and perhaps i don't but you are certainly welcome to shutting you nosy blathering mouth." I said defensively, drawing even more attention to myself accidentally.
"What are you talking about?" Nori said, many dwarves in front of me.
"Pilda here was watching the prince's each and every move..." He whispered in a low voice, only loud enough for those of us in close proximity to hear. I turned around again, about to snap at Bofur but in the distance i saw Bilbo's figure running for us. My face quickly changed to a bright smile as Bilbo started screaming out. He caught up slowly and started to speak with Thorin and Gandalf in the front of the pack whom had quickly gotten him a pony. I was so happy to see him but frankly had no chance to even speak a word to my own uncle.
Just a minute later rain was crashing down upon us and i was the only one of us to not even receive a single drop of water in my hair.
Much later after the sun had long set and the rain had settled to a dribble, we set up camp in a strange area with a large rock shelf. Clearly perfect shelter to rest. We quickly set up camp and built a heavy fire. I decided it may be best if i go right to sleep but i'd been told to go get firewoid at the last second by Nori so i had no choice to oblige. I left off into the forest and came across a strange body of water i merely minutes. I'd gathered only a bit of wood and i thought it may be best if i search away from the water for dryer wood but at the very last second i heard a bit of splashing in the water over to my left. And then i saw a man's figure emerging in the water covered in blond hair, a bare form with clothes left on the bank. I quickly ducked down in the bushes and put a hand up to cover my mouth. I knew i should look away or call out but I couldn't look away...I couldn't help it but letting my eyes trail to the figure as he cleaned his hair in the water and dunked multiple times. As he turned his face, i squinted and made out who it was and it was Fili standing before me bare submerged in the water. I was blushing furiously and dared not to move nor to breath. I knew it was wrong to stare at the magnificent dwarf but i couldn't tear my eyes away and simply watched until he left the waters. I ran like the devil all the way back to the camp, my heard pounding and my mind full of new images. Just in time, i sprawled out of the wood as Nori nodded to me, still awake as all the others were laid down.
A few minutes later, Fili came out from the forest fully clothed and went to sit by his brother in a curved part of the rock. When the sounds of Orcs started becoming very loud, Fili started to tease my uncle with Kili.
"Throat-cutters. There'll be dozens of them out there. The lowlands are crawling with them." Fili explained with a wave of his pipe.
"They strike in the wee small hours, when everyone's asleep. Quick and quiet; no screams, just lots of blood." Kili said in a low voice before looking to his brother with a cheeky smile.
"You think that's funny? You think a night raid by orcs is a joke?" I sat up and looked over to the right where Thorin walked in front of the brothers. My eyes lingered on Fili...
"We didn't mean anything by it." Kili said apologetically
"No, you didn't. You know nothing of the world." He snapped and stared off into the forest. Then, Balin cut in and told everyone about why Thorin hated Orcs. I listened intently and took turns between looking at Balin and Thorin. When he was finished, everyone stood and payed honour to their king who glared back at them. Sighing, i sat back down by the fire and felt myself grow tired.
I packed my self away in the blankets and tried to sleep right away but found my mind dancing with the images from earlier. But later that night, i had a peculiar dream, perhaps a dream that was considered naughty...
