Rikki
"So where are we going?" Bianca wonders as we walk through the dark, closing, empty mall.
"My bike." I answer simply and I see her roll her eyes.
"That's not what I mean." She mutters and I smile.
"Just trust me, alright?" I ask her and she nods.
"Fine, fine, alright." Bianca agrees.
I'm still not sure how but Bianca agreed to go out with me. Jesus, I was waiting to be struck out. With this luck, maybe I should buy a lottery ticket.
We walk out into the parking lot and out to my motorcycle. Bianca gets on behind me and wraps her tiny arms around me so she doesn't fall. I look at her thin fingers. Christ, for being as tall as she is, Bianca is really thin and boney.
We pull out of the parking lot and head towards my apartment. I figure since she's never seen The Breakfast Club (or any movie for that matter) we'll watch it and like order pizza or something. I figure that it's a better plan than playing twenty questions in some restaurant. Besides, I think she'll end up loving the movie.
Bianca is still CC's little sister (like that was going to change, they're insanely alike, I'm not sure how we didn't see it before) he's going to kill me if he finds out about this. Part of me is horrified and thinks that we should just call it off. The other part of me is thinking, this is the girl you've been crazy about for years now. You've finally got a shot with her, don't blow it because you're scared of her brother. Am I scared of him? No way. At the same time, CC is like my best friend.
I didn't realize how fast I was approaching a red light until I looked up. Worrying about CC murdering me nearly got me and his little sister killed. I think the only thing worse than fucking your friend's sister is killing your friend's sister. To be honest, I think CC would rather have me in his sister's pants. Christ, what am I thinking? CC doesn't want me in his sister's pants! Jesus Rikki.
We finally make it back to my place, in one piece and she looks over to me.
"So why don't you like movies?" I wonder as we walk towards the building.
"It's not that I don't like them, it's that they're either cookie cutter generic and predicable or I just get board and fall asleep." Bianca admits.
"Alright, I don't believe you. Name one movie that was predictable." I challenge and she laughs.
"Vader is the Dutch word for father. So "Luke, I am your father" isn't a far stretch." She explains. "His name is literally dark father."
"So you speak Dutch?" I laugh and she shakes her head.
"There was a Dutch girl in my grade when I was in elementary school. That's what she called her father." Bianca explains.
"Alright, fair enough. But you're going to like this movie and I'm going to make sure you watch it until the end." I tell her as we get to the door.
"Do your worst, Rockett." Bianca challenges.
"Challenge accepted." I smirk and she smiles.
Bianca
Dear Mr. Vernon,
We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it is that we did wrong. But we think you're crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us: in the simplest terms and in the most convenient definitions.... But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain. And an athlete. And a basket case. A princess. And a criminal. Does that answer your question?
Sincerely yours,
The Breakfast Club.
Simple Minds plays through the ending scene of the first movie I've watched from start to end and actually enjoyed.
Rikki looks over to me and smiles.
"Did you like it?" He wonders and I nod.
"It was actually great." I admit and his smile broadens.
"I told you so." Rikki gloats.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever." I try to sound serious but my smile gives me away. "Thanks." I smile and he looks at me kinda confused.
"For?" He wonders.
"You changed my mind and its for the good." I explain and he nods.
"Then you're welcome." Rikki laughs.
Rikki and I just look at each other for a while, not saying anything. We sit on the couch of his apartment as the ending credits role, my favourite song playing in the background. I smile slightly and drop my gaze. Rikki lifts my chin up so I have to look him in the eye again. Warm, coffee coloured eyes, they're beautiful. He leaves his fingers on my chin for a while before pulling my face closer to his.
Our lips collide and I feel it. I thought it was just something that movies and greeting card companies made up. It wasn't just sparks, it was the Fourth of July, Labor Day, and a wild fire all in one. It's the most powerful force I've ever came into contact with (and that's counting the brutes I've met in rugby). When people sing about love they sing about this. This feeling that you can't even fathom the proper words, like there's a void in your mind, body, and soul. You have to feel it to believe it and it's real. 150% real. If hearts are wild creatures and our ribs are cages, the wild thing is pounding against the cage walls, wanting out.
We don't pull away for a while, a long while actually. Rikki is the one to pull away first, he studies me carefully. He looks like he's going to say something but goes back to kissing me.
Eventually we find ourselves in the position of me underneath him while we're kissing. Rikki only pulls away slightly this time and says something with my lips still on his.
"Your brother." Is what escapes his lips.
"Whatever keeps you going." I smile and he smirks before going back to kissing me. Shortly after, moving to my neck.
