The Wolves, the band, Jamie, and I had all gone out to a bar. I sit on Rikki's lap and his arms wrap around my waist. Jamie sits on James lap and they're officially back together, James wants to move to LA. Jamie is going help him pack and fly back in about a week. Since both the team and the band love talking we all get along fine.
"So remember when we howled at the principal?" John Delmar, a defence man wonders.
"I remember writing lines." CC laughs.
"I bet it was a sight seeing all twenty five of us writing 'I will not howl at the principal' on black boards." Matt Benson, a left winger says.
"I don't know about you jackasses but I remember getting a four games suspension for punching a ref." James smiles.
"I remember the bench fight that Bee started when we were playing Devils back in '76." CC smirks.
"I didn't start it." I scowl and everyone laughs.
"Baby girl, I know you. I'm betting you started it." Rikki says in my ear before kissi my cheek.
"I didn't start it." I insist. "The idiot that said 'girls can't play hockey did'."
"Yes but you threw the first punch." James reminds me.
"And he went down like the Titanic!" I laugh with everyone.
"And the four game suspension?" Jamie wonders.
"Worth it." I smile.
"You think we're gonna beat the Devils again?" Mike Kilmer another winger speaks up.
"We beat them when we were eighteen." James says. "Why can't we do it again?"
"Exactly." CC and I say in unison.
"Besides, there's not a lot that can beat the Wolf Pack." James smiles.
The Wolf Pack is two things. It's what we call our team for starters. But the second and the one that James is talking about it our play. Shepherd told us when we were twelve that wolves travel together, as a unit, in a pack. The forwards and the defence clump together and we passed the puck between the five of us. By the time we get close enough to shoot, the opposition is really confused and we can score the goal. It works really well actually, nobody ever caught onto it either and we've been doing it since the seventh grade.
We spend the rest of the night talking about old times and the band is having fun hearing stories about us as kids. It gets late quick and we all head back to my parents' house.
Rikki lays down on the bed beside me and smiles.
"Your team is fun." He says playing with my hair.
"Yeah, I've known them since we were little." I say. "They're great."
"Its pretty hot that you play hockey. Just another badass thing about you." Rikki tells me.
"Tough as nails." I smile and he laughs.
"You truly are." He kisses me. "I caught you." He brings up my challenge from earlier. "Now you have to give me more." Rikki says into my mouth.
"You're and asshole." I joke as I kiss him and he laughs.
"But I'm your asshole." He mumbles.
I love him so much.
