Maya looked up again at the black night sky. It was Saturday and usually Maya just sat at her window and drew sketches. Maya's mom had another late shift, Maya didn't exactly hate her mom, she just wished she at least had time with her. Her mom never showed up to her assembly's when middle school started.

Maya's fathers left when she was in third grade, Maya thought that he went on a secret mission helping to save a princess, but that's what most third graders believe when their father is gone. You see, Maya used to be popular in middle school, and she would've been if Riley didn't let out her big secret.

She was drawing the buildings of New York, focusing on the details, when she heard a tap on her window. Thinking it was Lucas she instantly opened it up, only to see Riley, "R-Riley, w-what are you doing here," Maya was shocked and a bit angry.

"I wanted to talk, about us," Maya moved out of the way as Riley invited herself in, "Wow, this room is still the same," Riley said as she looked around. Maya stood in the corner, crossing her arms, "That was before you let out my big secret," Riley snapped back to reality,

"Oh yeah, that. Listen Maya, I just wanted-," Maya interrupted her, "Riley, I'm not going to forgive you, it's not like that. You should've apologized after you let out my secret. You can't change what happened in the past," Maya felt surprised at her own words, maybe her confidence is coming back.

"Maya, I'm sorry, I really am. If I could go back I would stop myself from that mistake, but that's not the only reason I came here. You need to stay away from Lucas Friar," Riley was genuinely concerned about Maya, she would try anything to get Maya's forgiveness.

"Oh yeah, why would I do that?," Maya didn't believe a word Riley said, "Because your next, Maya, Lucas chooses his victims and breaks them. Trust me, you want to stay away from him."

Maya had heard enough of this, "You don't get to tell me what to do, I can make my own choices Riley. Now get out," Maya pointed to her window, but Riley didn't give up just yet, "Maya please, you really think I would lie about this."

For a second the two ex-best friends looked at each other, but Maya snapped out of it, "Get out."

"But Maya-,"

"Now."

Riley sighed and walked over to the window, "Don't say I didn't warn you," Maya shut the window after Riley climbed out. She sighed and started to continue on her sketch.

Meanwhile in the Friars household, Lucas heard his father smashing bottles, and slurring words. Lucas slouched against the wall, begging for this to be over. Lucas didn't seem afraid, no, all he did was think about Maya. It was a weird thing for him to do, but he would do anything to forget about his fathers drunk hour.

He held his breath when he heard footsteps coming near his door, the footsteps walked away as Lucas let out a breath. He started to walk over to his window, he needed to visit his sister. It's been one week, he hadn't gotten a chance because if his father. Now, it was Saturday, and Lucas knew his father would pass out in five minutes.

So he climbed over the window, very carefully, and jumped down, pulling his hood up and beginning his way to the hospital.

"Thank you," Lucas thanked the doctors as he closed the door, facing Bella who was unconscious. He smiled, he was glad to see his sister and that line still beeping. Lucas pulled up one of the chairs and set it down next to Bella. Lucas had so much to tell Bella, he felt as if it helped him feel better, getting some weight off his shoulders.

"Hey Bel," Lucas smiled, "I hope your dreaming about something good, thought mom would've freaked if you were thinking about having sex with a rockstar, if she was still here," Lucas looked away for a second.

"Uh, I met a girl name Maya, she's a, different cool. She has blonde hair, blue eyes, I remember her as Blonde Beauty, because she's a beauty," Lucas laughed holding Bella's hand.

"I found out she has a mother who doesn't pay attention to her, she's broken like me, too bad I'm gonna break her," Lucas felt remorse or sadness, but he ignored the feeling.

"Bella, you gotta wake up soon. I love you," Lucas felt a tear run down his cheek, he left the hospital room, beginning his way home.
