"Are we there yet?!" A perky Riley Matthews yelled at Lucas from the back seat, where she was laying at. Lucas gritted his teeth in annoyance. They were on the road and it was only one hour and Riley was asking that question. Lucas wondered how Maya kept up with a person this perky. "No, now stop being a little kid and shut the fuck up."

Riley opened her mouth wide, she never knew a person this rude. She wondered how Maya kept up with him. She crossed her arms, already thinking this was a bad idea. She looked out the window, watching the scenery whiz pass her. Lucas sighed, "Look, I'm sorry. It's just the stress. I still can't fucking believe Josh was dating Maya."

Riley heard Lucas whisper something, thinking she didn't hear it, "She was my Shortstack." Riley ignored it, she was slightly jealous of this situation. She wished she was as determined as Lucas, but she was just a middle schooler in love. She sometimes wondered if Farkle was happy, did he ever think about her? These questions, Riley knew, had no answers.

There was only silence, as Riley and Lucas only thought about the people they love.

"Hey, babe." Maya smiled as Joshua kissed her cheek. She couldn't more happier. She was leaving her troubles all behind. "Hey Josh." Maya sat on the couch. Maya was happy to finish sophomore year, at Maya's school no one made her feel useless. Everyone thought she was just a normal person, and she liked to keep it that way. "So, I'm picking up my friend in like one hour. Want to come?" Maya smiled, "Sure what's his name."

"Lucas." Maya suddenly lost her smile. "What's the last name?" Maya wanted to be sure. "Friar, why?" Maya let out a wary smile. "Oh no reason, I have a cousin named Lucas." Everything seem to freeze, her mind, her heart, everything. "Yeah, I'll get ready." In reality Maya was ready to pack her bags, and leave. No, it can't be, she has tried so hard to erase everything. Maya knew this was wrong, she was going to leave her love behind, but it was too much. She walked to Joshua's room, she always kept her extra clothes here.

Maya locked the bathroom door, and let out her sobs. She slid down the door, crying silently.

And Maya knew, she needed Lucas more than anything, and that was the feeling she was dreading all this time.
