A kiss has meaning. Sometimes it's a goodbye kiss that contains tears and sadness that will fill you up every second of the day. It's sometimes a kiss that involves lust and hunger and shows that your craving for something deeper. But the kiss between Maya and Lucas involved a longing. Something that they had waited for all along.
Maya released from Lucas's hold, breathless and trying to wrap her mind around the moment. Her mind flashed to the first kiss between her and Lucas. It made her want to wake up and kiss Lucas all over again.
But before she could say anything Lucas spoke up. "I-I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me. I have to go."
Maya's theory about Lucas having the same feelings as her seemed wrong based on the outcome of the experiment. As she heard the door slam in front of her she felt her heart breaking in one piece.

The next day Maya woke up finding the sun shining on her face. She groaned pulling up her covers trying to make the brightness of the sun go away. Maya had felt all kinds of heartbreak that night. She just didn't expect that reaction from Lucas. She guessed she was confusing herself with the Lucas before and the Lucas he was now.
Maya woke up fully when she heard a rattle outside her window like someone was trying to break in. She gasped and grabbed the closest thing she could find, which was a baseball bat. She slowly walked over to the window, trying to not make any noise.
Maya opened the window and swung her bag at whoever was trying to kill her. "Maya! What the hell!?" She stopped swinging and screaming when she noticed it was her best friend Riley.
"Why do you have a baseball bat?" Riley said, still a bit shook from her best friend trying to kill her.
"Why didn't you use the front door?" Maya set down the bat and made room for Riley to get in.
"You know only big girls do that." Riley entered Maya room which was full of sketches, paintings, collages, and all things related to art.
"What are you doing here Riley?" Maya sat back down on her bed ready to get back under her covers of despair. Riley sat down next to Maya. "Farkle and I were wondering if you wanted to go to the park with us?"
"So basically you two are going to suck each other's faces off and I'm gonna be a third wheel." Riley blushed as Maya shook her head, already not to keen on the idea of going into the outside world.
Riley knew Maya didn't feel like herself today. She could tell by her body language and the fact that she looked like she could break any moment. "Maya, no is not an answer. You are going out and you are going to enjoy it."
Maya groaned loudly as Riley dragged her over to her closet already feeling this was a bad idea.

Maya grimaced as her two best friends kept telling each other lovey dovey stuff. Maya sighed looking around the park filled with parents trying to control their hyper kids and a few teenagers secretly smoking near the slide to distance themselves from the kids.
Maya looked at Riley and Farkle and figured she better leave before anything got too awkward between the three of them. Maya walked away from the park and into the busy streets of New York.
She kept walking and walking down the streets trying to find something to do that suits her. But as she was walking she didn't notice the car that was honking to desperately get her out of the way.
And when she didn't a certain cowboy saw the scene unfold in front of him and started running toward Maya. He screamed his lungs out, anything to get the blonde beauty out of the road.
Maya heard Lucas and saw the car and memories began to surface her head. She gasped and then like before, Lucas pushed her out of the way taking the hit.
Maya felt her heart shattering once again when she saw Lucas on the road, his body not moving.
