Maya sighed running a hand through her hair. She never knew algebra would be this hard. Maya was back in school and so far she wished she was Sabrina Carpenter again. When Maya was her she didn't have to go to public school. Maya wasn't too peachy on the idea of walking into school with everyone staring at her.

There were always whispers around her. "Oh my god! I can't believe she's still alive!" She would hear or, "I can't believe she decided to come back!" But she knew she didn't want to be in Farkle's place. Every time Farkle was on the phone she could hear screaming. She concluded that it must be his father or his mother. Not a good day at the Minkus house if Farkle's not even there.

Maya's mind then focused on Lucas. It's been about two weeks since their conversation on the bench. Lucas had also come back to school but was always wondering why everyone seemed to glare at him all the time. Maya didn't have the heart to tell him about his reputation before the accident. He just looked like an innocent puppy at school. At least that's what Maya thought.

Maya began focusing on her algebra homework that was sitting on her desk. She blankly stared at it. She never knew math was this hard. Or evil. She was just hoping she would get through the beginning of the year.

Lucas entered the sanitary hospital. He wasn't here to check in, he was here to check on someone. He was told he had a sister named Bella Friar. He was also told she was in a coma. But she wasn't lucky like he was, she still hadn't woken up. He did find out his mother was killed and that his father faced the charges and was now in a rehab center.

Lucas walked toward the help desk. He cleared his throat before speaking, "Um, hi. I would like to see someone named Bella Friar." The lady at the desk started typing on her keyboard before going back to Lucas, "You can gladly see her, Room 101."

Luca smiled before quickly walking towards Room 101. When he got there he took a deep breath. Then he wondered if this was how Maya felt when visiting him. Scared. When he finally had the confidence needed he entered the room.

He instantly knew the girl on the bed was his sister. She had the same brown hair, hers was darker. Her eyes were darker, but still green. He was face to face with his sister. The doctor had told Lucas the story of his family. Lucas now knew he would never visit his father.

He pulled up a chair and set it next to the bed. He sat in it gently taking his sisters hand. He really didn't know what to say. The fact that he was in a coma or the fact that she took a hit for him. He suddenly felt as if it was his fault Bella was in this mess, even with his memories gone. He still felt guilty.

He finally knew that to say, "It's nice to know I have a sister, Bella. I was in the same place you were but I woke up. There's this girl, Maya, she's helping me retrieve my memories. Everyone is helping, but she makes me feel that I don't need to remember her to be her friend. I'm trying to remember but every time I do my mind just can't work."

Lucas didn't know what else to say and left.

The next morning Maya woke up with new energy. Today was Friday and she was glad that it was. No more people. No more whispers. No more homework. And especially no more teaches treating you like a charity case. Maya quickly got dressed and grabbed her backpack. She walked to the kitchen to see another note on the counter.

She sighed, reading it out loud. "Hey baby girl, had to go to work. Some tuna melt is in the fridge for dinner. Love you." Maya put the note in the trash checking the fridge. There was indeed some tuna melt. She grabbed a pop tart for breakfast before running out the door.

At her locker Riley got out her books for her first period. English. Riley wouldn't tell anyone but she loved English no matter how many people despised it. She loved writing and writing. She felt as if it was her safe place. Next to Maya of course.

Riley then spotted the familiar blonde pushing through the crowds of people. Riley shut her locker before walking over to Maya. "Hey peaches." Maya didn't say anything and opened up her locker, quickly getting her books out.

"No, 'Hey Riley how's your day?'." Maya finally looked at her, "Hey Riley how's your day?" Riley huffed in annoyance. Then she saw Lucas enter the halls of Abigail Adams High School. She nudged Maya on the shoulder and Maya followed her gaze.

Lucas held the strap of his book bag tighter when all eyes were on him. He heard whispers all around him but none of them fazed him. "I can't believe he lost his memory!" He heard one girl say. "I'm pretty sure he's still an asshole." He sighed to himself and kept on walking.

But then something happened. Lucas looked up and saw this girl with brown hair. He knew most of the girls here did have brown hair but this one was different. It was as if she was connected to his life. Her face was held with anger as she looked at him. Her eyes were glistening with fire. Then his head started to hurt.

"I have connections, and if you don't embarrass Maya in front of homecoming tomorrow, everyone will know about your little secret."

He was snapped out of his trance when Maya appeared in front of him. "Hey Huckleberry!" Maya spoke with a grin on her face. Lucas didn't say anything and looked around trying to find an answer. When he tried to find the girl again she was gone.

"Hey, hello, Lucas. It's me the girl with rants."

"No, I actually like hearing your rants, it's cute,"

"I'm sorry I have to go." Lucas left leaving a very confused Maya. Then a memory sparked in Maya's mind.

"I would never leave you."

That was something Lucas had said, but she wasn't so sure if he meant it.
