Everything was a blur for Maya. She remembered the paramedics wheeling Lucas away. All Maya did was scream at him to wake up. She remembered when Riley held her tight saying it was going to be okay. Maya didn't believe the brunette. She knew everything wasn't going to be okay, Lucas had risked his life for her. It was practically her fault. Now Maya was in the waiting room with Riley and Farkle. They had called all of their parents and they said they were coming to California right now.

Maya could only think about Lucas. She should've just listened, she thought. She should've just let him explained. Only one word went through Maya's head.

Worthless.

She only hoped Lucas would wake up. She really didn't know what she would do without him. All Maya wanted was happiness. Lucas gave that to her, Maya was only dumb not to realize that. A women with a clipboard entered the waiting room, "Relatives of Lucas Friar." Maya, Riley, and Farkle instantly stood up walking over to the women.

"I'm sorry, only family members are allowed to see him." Maya was about to scream at the women. She hated when the hospitals said that family members are allowed to see patients, aren't friends your family too? Before Maya could even say a word Farkle stepped in, "We are his family." To Riley and Maya's surprise the women let them through.

The three of them followed her and stopped at Room 201, "Only one at a time." Riley and Farkle stepped back and Maya looked at both of them. She looked at them and they nodded at her as if it was okay for her to go first. Maya sighed and entered the room, facing whatever comes at her.

Once Maya was in the room Riley looked at Farkle, "They really love each other don't they?"

Farkle smiled at the door before looking at Riley, "It's true love."

When Maya entered the room she wished she hadn't gone first, because when she saw Lucas it made her even more guilty. There was this voice in her head telling her this was all her fault, that Lucas was in the hospital because of her. Maya then knew she was going to have to forgive herself at one point. With a brave face on she walked toward Lucas, holding his hand by his side.

Lucas had his eyes closed and his face looked, peaceful. It was almost as if his face said he was okay, he wasn't in pain he was just asleep. Maya felt relief looking at his face, but it only lasted for a second when he started to move. He groaned and groaned until Lucas finally opened his eyes.

She felt like a teenage girl again, she hasn't gotten that feeling in a while. Maya wanted to cry, she wanted to hug Lucas, she wanted to feel his lips on hers again. "Lucas, your finally awake. Oh-"

"Who are you and how did I land in the hospital?"

In that moment Maya Hart's world went crashing down. She stepped away from Lucas and steadied herself. The guilty feeling was back and this time it didn't disappear. Not only had Lucas risked his life for her, he risked his memories. She looked at Lucas who had a confused expression on his face and bolted out the door. Riley and Farkle were sitting right outside of Lucas's door when Maya ran out.

Before any of them could say a word Maya went down the hall trying to find a doctor. Riley and Farkle looked at each other, they knew something had happened to Maya. They ran after her yelling her name, "Maya slow down!"

Maya didn't listen, when she found a doctor a bunch more went toward Room 201. When Maya was alone she slid down the wall. She didn't want to believe it, she didn't want to believe the truth. Riley and Farkle had finally caught up with her and both of them sat by her side.

It was silent for a moment. None of them said anything, probably because the silence was needed. It wasn't uncomfortable, it was peaceful.

"He doesn't remember me."

Riley and Farkle suddenly knew what she was talking about and had the same expression as Maya. Sadness. Both of them hugged Maya's side. This reassured Maya that no matter what she and her two best friends were always going to be by her side.

But that didn't make the guilty feeling in her stomach go away. She was now the reason Lucas may never get his memories back.
