Maya exited the classroom along with all the other students who were rushing out like a herd of animals. She hadn't seen Lucas all day since that weird encounter with him. She was wondering if he was okay or hurt. But she didn't have a second to think about him when Riley appeared in front of her with Farkle by her side. "Hey Maya!" Riley exclaimed, "Ready to go eat lunch?"

Maya was about to reply when she saw Lucas walking down the hallway. "I have some work to do." She quickly flashed a smile before walking over to Lucas. Riley sighed and leaned into Farkle. "She still likes him."

"Yup, and that kind of love never goes away." Farkle kissed Riley's cheek before leading her to the cafeteria. Lucas walked fast, he didn't have time to say sorry to all the people he bumped into. He was confused, very confused. He was getting these blurred pictures of him  and Maya together.

Lucas's head had been hurting ever since he saw the girl with the brown hair. His mind was filled with these sayings that can only be told by one person. Lucas. So it was no surprise when Maya appeared in front of him with the same smile she wore this morning. "Hey Lucas. Is everything okay? You seemed out of place this morning."

"Everything's fine." He was about to leave but he didn't. He didn't know why but he felt as if talking with Maya would help him sort out his situation. "I was just going to eat lunch. You coming?"

"Really, you want to eat lunch with me?" Maya grinned, "You'd honestly think I would let you eat lunch alone? Of course not!"

"Who said I wasn't going to eat lunch with you."

Lucas nodded, exchanging the same grin Maya had on. "Let's go eat." He'd figure he would get some answers from her. After all, he needed them.

Maya looked around the lunchroom trying to locate Farkle and Riley. When she finally found them she walked over to them thinking Lucas would follow her. But when she got to their table she looked behind and saw no Lucas. "Maybe he went to the bathroom. It's said males will often use the bathroom more than women." Maya looked at Farkle sharing a disturbed look with Riley.

"I'm sure it's nothing." Farkle said, and Maya gave up on trying to find Lucas and simply sat down across from the couple. She kept stabbing her fork on her food with Lucas in her mind. This wasn't going to be easy. Maya knew Lucas was hiding something. She just had to find out.

Maya again looked at the cafeteria doors to see if Lucas would magically appear. But instead she saw a familiar face. "Missy." Riley immediately perked her head up at that name and followed Maya's gaze.

"And here we have Maya Hart! Also known as 'The Broken Nerd', or 'The Ugly Broken Nerd'!"

Indeed it was Missy Bradford and she was alive and evil as ever. Missy walked in and the whole cafeteria was quiet. Everyone's eyes were on Missy and Maya, thinking that the two would talk. Instead Missy simply went to the lunch line and the whole cafeteria erupted with noise again.

Maya, was feeling queasy at the moment. She pushed back her chair and decided that she needed to be alone. "I have to go to the bathroom."

Riley for one didn't take that excuse, "You didn't even finish your lunch peaches." Maya didn't say anything back and left the cafeteria before anything else bad would happen. She had suffered too much sadness, she wanted it to stop.

Meanwhile, Lucas was in the library. He didn't mean to leave Maya in there. His head had started to hurt with everyone staring at him. Another blurred picture appeared in his mind. He just needed some time alone.

Maya had also decided to go to the library. To her, the library reminded of her happy memories. Not bad ones. The library was a special place for her to just sit and think. Maya wiped her eyes where a few tears came out.

She sucked it up and walked toward to where the tables were. Maya figured no one would be at the library. She wanted to be alone. Alone. Maya was too used to that word. She was alone all her life.

"Hi Maya." Maya jumped back and almost knocked down the books next to her. She didn't really expect Lucas to be here. Then again most of the time she was in here with Lucas. Just remembering the moments she had with him reminded her why she decided to not let him go.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were going to eat lunch in the cafeteria." Maya sat down next to him eating one of his fries.

"I was, but then my head started to hurt."

Maya nodded as if she knew exactly what Lucas meant. The two of them sat there in complete utter silence. Lucas sighed and decided that he had to ask her sooner or later. But before he could Maya asked him a question of her own, "So did you visit your father?"

Maya almost forgot about Lucas's situation with his family. When she realized she felt ashamed of herself that she hadn't thought about what Lucas might be going through. She remembered him telling her that his relationship with his father was going in the right direction.

That was when they were coming back to New York. That was when everything didn't fall apart. "I don't want to talk about him." Lucas gripped one side of the table that his knuckles turned white. Maya saw this and came to the conclusion that Lucas wasn't really a big fan of his father.

Maya knew Lucas, and she knew about his anger. She saw it a couple times before they met. So she placed his hand on his and to her surprise Lucas's expression immediately changed from bitter to soft. "Lucas, he's still your father. I know that he made some mistakes. But people can learn from their mistakes."

"You think I can possibly forgive him for all he has done. No offense, but you don't really know my pain." Lucas couldn't stop the words coming out of him. "Oh really, you don't think I know what it's like to lose someone."

Maya pulled her hand away. "Your telling this to a girl who lost her sister due to cancer, then her dad left right after her death." Maya grabbed her belongings and from that moment Lucas knew he had messed up. But Lucas had to ask one question before Maya left, "How do you know about my family?"

Maya stopped herself and turned to Lucas. She was about done with him but she knew he was confused. "You told me right at that very table your sitting at."
