It was Tuesday and Maya and Lucas's friendship grew stronger. They were inseparable, together they were strong. Lucas got in a bit deeper, Maya told Lucas about her family life, how her mom didn't have time for her. Lucas made up a lie saying his parents were divorced, after all, it was partially true.
That wasn't enough for Lucas, no, Lucas needed a much bigger secret, and he needed to find out today. They were sitting at the library, Maya rambling about something, and Lucas listening.
"I mean, could Mars really have human life out there. It's not like we're all gonna leave earth and just live on Mars. I think it's stupid, they should just leave Mars alone," Maya sighed, biting into a burger, "I should probably stop rambling," Maya chuckled, not nervously.
"No, I actually like hearing your rants, it's cute," Lucas ate into his chicken nugget, spotting a little ketchup on the corner of Maya's mouth, "Oh you got something there."
Maya felt her face, trying to find the spot, "No, no not there, here," Lucas reached over, his thumb brushing against Maya's mouth. Maya froze, she felt something, a spark. Lucas couldn't deny it either, he felt a spark, or butterflies. Maya smiled, "Thanks."

"Oh, I'm so glad those crutches are gone, and my bruises are healing," Maya's crutches were already gone and her bruises were healing, she thought it was crazy how fast she got out of them.
"Hey, you never told me how you got those bruises," Lucas and Maya were walking down the sidewalk, Lucas looked at Maya. He hates to admit it, but he was concerned about Maya, in a way he can't explain it.
Maya stiffened up, "Like I told the doctor, I bumped into ice cream stands," Maya started to look down, she was afraid Lucas would go away if she told him the real reason.
"Hey," Lucas lifted up Maya's chin, they dove into a staring contest, "You can trust me," Lucas meant that. Maya sighed and pulled Lucas out of the sidewalk, and into Central Park.
They both sat on the bench, "I got these bruises because of Missy, apparently I'm her punching bag. I understand if you don't want to be friends with me," Maya looked to see Lucas's reaction, but he just smiled, "I would never leave you."
They both held eachother hands, feeling the butterflies they couldn't deny.
