LUKE'S POV:
The next morning, the sun decided to kill me.
I rolled out of bed, groaning loudly and closed my drapes. The light had already seared into my brain, leaving a nasty migraine in its wake. "Dammit." I yawned, rubbing my eyes.
How did I even get home? I wondered, trying and failing to gather those memories.
I slipped out into the hallway and heard someone downstairs. "Hello?" I called, expecting my mum or Gus to answer.
But a different voice replied, "Luke?"
I got to the bottom of the stairs and stared open-mouthed and the guy standing in my kitchen chowing down on pizza.
"Jack!!" I exclaimed, striding across the kitchen to gather my older brother in my arms.
"Hey Lukey." He teased, hugging me back.
"Where are the old people?" I asked, looking around.
"On their honeymoon?" He replied, narrowing his eyes. "Wow you must really have been out of
it last night." He added.
I laughed nervously, scratching my head. "Uhh yeah if you could fill me in on what happened/what I did that would be great."
"That's for me to know and you to never find out." He grinned smoothly. I glared at him playfully.
"Why are you here anyway?" I asked, taking a slice of pizza out of the box he was eating from.
"I am babysitting." He said with a huge grin.
"You're joking." I muttered irritably.
"I wish. They gave me a list of stuff I can and cant let you guys do. And I have to check on you guys like 3 times a night." He rolled his eyes.
"You're not really going to do that are you?" I frowned.
"I wouldn't, but they'll know if I don't." He pointed to the top of the stairs. "They installed a camera."
My irritation was at a record high. "Wow." Was all I could say.
"They probably have this whole place rigged with microphones and cameras." He laughed.
"What'd you and Sheila do that made them so stir crazy?"
"Nothin actually." I admitted. My brother suddenly picked up a sharpie and wrote 'do whatever you want, just don't get caught by the camera and don't get my arse in trouble.' On the inside of the pizza box.
I smiled up at him, remembering why he was my favorite brother. "Well I'm gunna go shower." I said, prancing off with a happy smile.
SHEILA'S POV:
I traced my finger around my lips, remembering how Luke's had been there the night before. My whole face flushed. I sat up in bed, hearing him go down the stairs. I heard his brother, Jack, telling him about the freaking camera's in the hallway and got mad all over again
"Are these really necessary?" I remember asking my dad.
"They're for your own good." He'd said. But of course that was before they got on their jet plane and headed to the flippin' Bahamas. I groaned irritably. I listened as Luke bound up the stairs and shut the bathroom door. The shower squeaked on and I could hear him singing through the wall.
"Luke?" I called to him, wondering if he could hear me.
"Yeah?" He answered.
"I just wanted to let you know that the camera can only record videos, not voices." I smiled.
"Good to know." He answered. I could hear the smile in his voice.
