LUKE'S POV:
I was so scared for my mum. She had gone to see that monster and I was stuck here, at home. With Sheila. I wasn't sure if she needed to go to the E.R. so I crept away and pounded on Jack's door. No response. I opened it quickly and found an empty room. Where the hell was he?
I shook my head and returned to Sheila, my anger causing me to grind my teeth. I'm going to fucking kill him for this.
I couldn't stand to look at her face. Her beautiful skin was shades of blue and purple, her pink lips that I loved to kiss were scratched and bleeding. I turned around and punched a huge hole into the wall. "Gus I hate you." I whispered.
I tried to call Eve, but she didn't pick up. I threw my phone against a wall and kneeled by Sheila. I carefully hoisted her to her feet and laid her in my bed. In her sleep she whispered my name. "I'm here." I muttered soothingly, then laid next to her.
Her body fit perfect against mine and I draped my arm across her. Everything will change in the morning. I thought silently as I drifted into sleep.
The sun came up and my eyes flickered open to the sight of Sheila standing in front of my mirror applying make up. "Morning." I groaned, sitting up.
"Hi." She flicked a glance at me, smearing cover up around her eye. The bruise was literally disappearing under the tan cream. I walked up behind her, holding her waist.
"We have to do something." I whispered harshly.
"Luke." She snapped her foundation pallet shut and turned to face me. "There's nothing we can do." Sheila said then pushed past me to pick up her bag.
"Uhm excuse me? There's definitely something we can do! We can get my mum away from him. We can call the cops, we can beat the living shit out of him with a crow ba-"
"Stop." She said firmly, casting me a shady glance.
"Sheila. Please." My voice cracked.
"He's still my dad." She shook her head. I walked up and held her hands in my, gazing into her eyes.
"This isn't the first time is it?" I whispered breathlessly. She couldn't look me in the eye. "Sheila, what else has he done to you?" I asked, putting a finger under her chin and making her look at me.
She just shook her head and shut her eyes, trying to pull away from me.
"Talk to me." I pleaded, eyes watering. Her eyes were just as watery when they finally opened.
"I have to go home." Sheila said, opening my window and swinging one leg over the sill.
"Stop! He's going to hurt you!" I ran to the window but she slipped out of reach.
She waved her makeup at me. "Well I've got a lot more where this came from." She answered, then hopped off my roof and was gone. Chase her Luke, you need to save her. My conscious yelled, but I knew she wanted me to leave her alone.
Feeling all broken inside, I tried calling Eve again. She answered on the first ring.
"Luke?" She said.
"We need to talk." I replied firmly.
"I know, meet me at the park down by the church near the diner. I'll be there soon." Eve instructed then hung up.
