EMMA'S POV:

"Em." His voice floated through my subconscious. "Em wake up." His warm hand shook my shoulder.

I sat up and rubbed my eyes. "What?" I yawned.

"It's 11am... I just thought you should know you slept for 12 hours." He chuckled. woah 12 hours? I was out.

"Holy shit." I muttered, checking my phone.

"Won't your parents be worried?" He questioned. I laughed softly, locking my phone and tossing it on the coffee table.

"I'm 19 Luke, they stopped worrying about me a year ago."

He just smiled that perfect Luke Hemmings smile and slipped into the kitchen. I followed lazily, watching him as he pulled out pans. "I hope you like eggs, bacon and hash browns."

"Love them." I replied. I slipped off my flannel that I had fallen asleep in and tied it around my
waist. My white tank top was laced at the top and struggled to cover my cleavage.

I hopped on a bar stool across the counter from him and watched him work. He cracked some eggs and whisked them quickly, expertly shredded potatoes and timed the bacon perfectly.

Then suddenly, he slid across the floor and punched the power button on the radio sending Taylor Swift's voice throughout the house.

I recognized the lyrics to "Style" and smiled when he started singing and dancing along.

"You've got quite the personality." I chirped.

"I try." He winked, then returned to cooking.

"What smells so good?" Luke's brother asked as he plodded down the stairs. His gray sweats
were hanging low on his hips exposing his toned torso. Holy shit he was hot.. Like the mature
version of Luke.

I cast Luke a sideways glance and grinned again. I like the immature one. I laughed inwardly.

"Food." Luke snipped happily, using tongs to arrange the feast onto plates.

The door behind me opened and Lukes mum gravitated to the bar stool next to me. Her hair was crazy and all over the place and she sported a purple night gown that made her look twice her age.

"Morning loves." She breathed a fresh wave of morning breath. I cringed inwardly.

"Morning mum!" Luke gave her an award winning smile.

"Why are you so chipper?" Jack interrogated, breaking off a piece of bacon with his teeth.

"Because Jack." He began. "Life's too short to get hung up on silly matters."

"Silly matters? Like mum getting hitched to a total-"

Before Jack could finish that sentence I instinctively jabbed my elbow into his ribs. "Would you shut up?" I seethed. I still didn't know very much about this situation and I may have been completely out of line just now but either way I knew Jack was just trying to be a punk.

"Fiesty." Jack purred, "I like it."

I just rolled my eyes and thanked Luke as he set my plate down in front of me. Our eyes locked for a moment and my stomach swarmed into butterflies. Then the moment ended and I sat quietly eating my breakfast.

"So Emma, live in Sydney your whole life?" Luke's mum asked sweetly.

"Yep! It's a beautiful city." I replied.

"Sure is." She agreed, stuffing her mouth full of eggs. I cringed yet again. Lukes family was so much different than mine.. In a way it was kind of relieving. and in another way it was kind of disturbing.
