SHEILA'S POV:

"Excuse me?" I spun on my heel and glared at him. "What did you say?" I stepped closer to him. There's no way he just said that.

"Your mum is alive." He repeated softly, refusing to look me in the eye.

"WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU SAYING THAT!?" I screamed, grabbing a pillow and starting to beat the shit out of him with it. "YOU- LOUSY-PIECE-OF-LYING-SHIT!" Between each word, i gave him a good whack on the head.

"I'm not lying!" He shouted, shoving me off gently and pinning me to the bed.

"Luke it's not a funny joke and you need to stop." I whispered, feeling even more tears welling up.

"It's not a joke.. I can prove it." He whispered, his sweet breath so warm and comforting.

"Prove it." I snapped, pushing him off of me. He quickly grabbed his phone and started dialing numbers. I watched as he anxiously hit send and put it on speaker.

"We're sorry but this number is no longer available. Please hang up and try again." The phone's automated voice said. He quickly redialed. Same message. My heart sunk.

"You're such a liar." I said sadly, standing and walking to the door. "This is low Luke... a new low." I mumbled, pushing the door open and leaving him to rot in that hotel room.

LUKE'S POV:

Sheila disappeared and I was too confused and sad to stop her. Why wasn't the number working? Ah shit where is Sheila going? I stood and walked to the hallway, scanning both way. I ran down the stairs and into the lobby. No sheila. I ran out onto the streets. No Sheila.

Oh my god if she goes back to Gus.. My heart plummeted and I began to run. I was running towards Sheila's apartment which really wasn't that far, especially not when you're worked up with this much adrenaline.

I sprinted down the streets, knocking people over as I went. Some cursed at me, others recognized me and tried to follow. Than God I had giraffe legs and could outpace any crazed fan right now.

I was about a block away when my phone began to buzz.

CALL FROM RESTRICTED.

I put the brakes on and answered it.

"EVE!" I shouted as i pulled the phone to my ear.

"Uhm no. This is Jack. Luke have you jumped off the looney train and into looney world?" Jack answered.

"Why the fuck are you calling me?" I groaned.

"Fine I won't tell you." Jack snipped. I knew he was grinning.

"You are such an adopted bastard." I muttered. "What is it?"

"There's a lady here, says her name is Sam and she needs to talk to you." He replied, a hint of laughter in his voice.

"Sam?" I asked, confused as fuck. "Describe her to me."

"She's got long black hair, beautiful cheek bones, brown eyes, perfect skin.. you know what Luke, i think i can handle her. You don't need to come home." His smile was apparent in his voice.

"You're sick, i'll be right home." I growled, hanging up. Why had Eve come to my house?

I hoped on the nearest bus and threw pockets full of change at the driver and told him to keep the change. It took 30 painful minutes to get home. I hoped off of the bus and burst through my front door like I was on fire.

"Luke." Eve stood up from the dining room table. Jack was right next to her, clearly making her uncomfortable. She couldn't conceal the fact that she was drawn to him though. No girl could. How strange would that be if Jack hooked up with Eve and I was with Sheila... It'd be like brother-

WHY WAS I EVEN THINKING ABOUT THAT RIGHT NOW?? I scolded myself inwardly.

"Can we talk in private?" Eve asked.

"Yes sam we can." I rolled my eyes as i called her by her alias. Jack winked at me as we relocated to the back porch.

"Where's Eve?" She asked, folding her arms. "I decided you're right, she needs to know... and I miss her."

"Well you're a little late." I growled, feeling angry with Eve for all of her bullshit.

"What do you mean?" Her eyebrows caved in concern.

"She ran away from me this morning... she was upset and I don't really know why. But i tried to get her to stop by telling her you were still alive..." I scratched the back of my head awkwardly knowing I'd screwed up.

"You're a moron." She rolled her eyes. Then she paled. "Do you think she went back to Gus?"

"Maybe... but my mom's there he won't hurt her if mum's around." I answered quickly. Eve opened her mouth to answer when the sound of the front door drew our attention. It was mum and she didn't have Gus with her.

I threw the sliding glass door open. "Mum, where were you?" I demanded. Her arms were full of groceries and I could tell she was still mega pissed at me.

"The grocery store? Help me with these bags." She snapped, trying to ditch them on me.

"Oh mother freaking shit." I cursed, causing mum to drop the bags and come towards me to swat my mouth. She didn't like me cursing. "Mum, we need to go to Gus' now."

"Luke. Stop obsessing about Gus. We don't need to- who is she?" Mum cut off mid sentence and gestured to Eve.

"That is Sam!" Jack announced, smiling widely. You are so fucking oblivious dude.. I thought quietly. "She's cute can we keep her?"

"She looks a lot like..." Mum's voice trailed off.

"Sheila?" I interupted, supressing an eye roll. "Yeah, that's Sheila's mum, we'll explain on the way. Jack you're coming too and you might want to bring your crow bar."
