TreeLUKE'S POV:

Mum couldn't drive fast enough to Gus'. Halfway there, she was shaking so bad that Jack had to drive.

"I just don't understand.." Mum cried into her hands. "Why would he lie to me.."

"Shh mum it's okay." I whispered, rubbing her back gently. "You didn't know."

"I didn't believe you!" She shouted, sobbing even harder. I looked up at the review mirror and Jack and I made eyes contact. I shook my head sadly and he frowned.

"I'm sorry I've brought this upon you guys.." Eve murmured softly.

"It's not your fault." Jack reached over and stroked her hand warmly and gave her a weak smile. I could literally see the lightning in their touch and prayed they wouldn't end up together. That'd be incest in some way... i think.

We pulled into the underground parking lot and I was instantly anxiously twitching. Together, the four of us walked into the elevator.

Elevator rides only last about 2 minutes at the most. Let me tell you... those were the longest 2 minutes of my life.

When the doors opened, we all gave each other one last longing look. It felt like we were moving in slow motion as we approached the door. Once we got there, i realized it was slightly cracked open.

My stomach soured. Everyone hung back while i slowly pushed it open. I don't know what I expected to see but i definitely didn't expect everything to look calm and normal. The TV was on and the news caster was blandly talking about the weather.

There was food on the counter as if someone just ate.

I couldn't see Gus or Sheila anywhere.

At first  i couldn't see Sheila.

I couldn't smell the blood.

Then i did. All at once my senses went haywire. I saw her lying , piled up on the rug in the middle of the carpet.

There was a small pool of blood surrounding her. Her skin was black and blue all over, her perfect lips were torn. Her hair was matted with knots and dried blood. I stepped closer to her, i heard Eve and my mum gasp.

They stayed away though. They knew better. I knelt next to her and stroked a strand of her hair behind her ear and a tear slid silently over my cheek and splashed onto her forehead.

Everything felt so numb and still I couldn't even move. Sheila. On the floor. Blood. Blood everywhere.

My head was numb.

The light in the room was closing in.

I couldn't smell her minty skin.

I couldn't see her perfect skin.

Then right before i blacked out i realized... i couldn't even feel her heart beating.
