Narumi set out with her friends to get back on the track of Madara and Sasuke Uchiha. Their trail was lost,but they'd have to use everything they had in hope to find them. Memories,scents,the byakugan..Anything. 

Narumi was running last in the line,along with Shikamaru. Naruto was running at the front,with Kakashi by his side. Narumi tried not to think abotu Kakashi,but the more she tried,the more she actually thought about him. 

"Narumi," Shikamaru said,slowing down a bit. She looked over at him,curious. His look was oddly serious,as if he knew something. She tried finding the answers in his eyes,but he was difficult to read. 

"We need to talk." Shikamaru said. 

"Now's not a good time,Shikamaru." Narumi said,speeding up her pace. Shikamaru ran with the exact speed now. 

"It's about Sasuke." 

"What about him?" Narumi asked neutrally,trying not to show any emotions. Narumi knew that she could never talk about Sasuke in front of Sakura...It'd be too hard on her,and she loved Sasuke so much! Narumi barely had feelings for Sasuke,he was only her best friend. Yet,when she saw him..she couldn't bare herself to hurt him,nor kill him. 

"I know what you're planning." What? Narumi gave him a confused look. What's he on about? "If you're trying to save Sasuke,then don't do it by force. You want us to take down Madara,which we probably won't,however,that will give you just enough time to take down Sasuke and bring him to the leaf village. You probably won't hurt him,but it's either using some sleeping mist or teleportation when he's too weak." 

How did he even figure that out?

Narumi couldn't look at Shikamaru,didn't dare to. He knew her too well. Ever since they were smaller they always used to play together with Naruto. However,Shikamaru and Narumi had been tighter,probably because Narumi always beat them at running (especially Kiba and Akamaru). 

"Whatever you do,Narumi," Shikamaru then said as they ran. "Don't do it by force. Let him decide." 

"When hes' done deciding the world will probably be in ash." Narumi said,knowing that part of it was a bit overrating,but that another part of it was actually true. 

Sasuke was a broken piece,and Narumi was sure that the only one who could save him was Naruto. The only one who could bring him back..was Naruto. The only one that could make him sane,that coould save Sasuke from becoming Madara,is Naruto.

"I'm telling you,Narumi." 

"I just want my old friend back,Shikamaru," Narumi said,her voice hard. "If it were Choji,or Ino,I'm sure you'd do the same."

"I-"

"Having your best friend in someone's hands that killed many innocent people is a call for help. No matter the thoughts your friend has. And you,Shikamaru,would do anything for your best friends. I know this because when Asuma sensei died,you went ballistic and killed those Akatsuki guys." Shikamaru was quiet for a while,knowing that Narumi had been right all along. 

Narumi looked down at the ground as  she ran ,imagening what it'd be like if Sasuke was here. If he was here..Would Narumi still have been in love with Kakashi sensei?  And would Kakashi sensei be in love with her? 

"I always tried to ignore the fact that Sasuke needed our help,even if he denied it so many times..I realized that when I attacked Madara and Sasuke. I relized that no matter what,I actually can't hurt him." And she couldn't put others life just for the sake of his. 

Kakashi had been prepared to risk his life for hers..She would never let anyone ever do that again. 

Shikamaru's POV; 

He'd always respected Naruto and Narumi,the ultimate twins that looked just like each other,but were ultimately different. Naruto had always been hyper,and for a while,even Narumi had been like that. 

But ever since they came back from training with master Jiraiya,Narumi had been different in all terms. She trained harder,knew better,was smarter,had more than enough power,and was quickly the leaf's best shinobi in a short amount of time. 

The Uzuamki twins,together all the time,side by side. He had great respect for the bond they shared. 

However,when it came to Sasuke,the both of them felt different things. Naruto didn't hide it,of course..He wanted Sasuke back more than anything,and so did Sakura. But if anyone really had a chance of getting him back,it'd be the girl that Sasuke obviously had a crush on; Narumi Uzumaki.

And looking at her now,at the sad way her beautiful face was making,he knew-he simply knew!- that Narumi loved Sasuke. It was written in her blue eyes,in the way she was reacting to everything when Sasuke was mentioned these past days. Ever since that fight with Madara..

"You're in love with him,that's why you're doing it,right?" Her eyes were suddenly shuddering,shaking.

"What I feel for him-"

"Don't lie,Narumi.. I've known you for a really long time. I know you." And silence. 

He kept looking at her,kept admiring the way she always needed to get her strong characted out just so that emotional part of her wouldn't act out. But Shikamaru saw it,he saw the emotions she was hiding. He also admired the fact that even though she was so strong and so powerful,she was also given the on thing a shinobi usually didn't; great beauty. Indeed,many shinobi's had beauty,pretty much all shinobi looked good.. But Narumi had the kind of beauty you'd only see in the depths of light,the kind of beauty you see in dreams. 

"I don't love Sasuke..Not really." Shikamaru looked for signs of the lies in her eyes,but she was speaking the truth. "To be honest,I just want Sasuke back for Naruto. It hurts to see Naruto like this."

Before Shikamaru had a chance to say anything,or before he even knew it,Naruto had been running right in front of Narumi and blocked every kunai in her direction. 

Narumi,with her wild blonde hair falling down on her back,looked at Naruto with big eyes. He had just saved her from all those kunai's,and was incredibly fast,and had seen it before any of them had.. Shikamaru was surprised that Narumi hadn't seen it coming..

"We're under attack!" Kakashi shouted from the other part,where he also had blocked an amount of kunai and shuriken's. Shikamaru looked around to see any signs of the enemy,but not sign was to be found..And considering that the attack came from the trees.. 

"It's Sasuke." Narumi said,whom had gotten into Sage  mode faster than Shikamaru has anticipated. Even Narumi in sage mode was awfully strong and damgerous,but when she was eager,she forgot her own strategies. 

Narumi seemed way too focused,but Naruto spoke before she did. "It's Sasuke,the Uzumaki girl, and those two guys." 

"Both have become quite skilled,haven't they,sensei?" Sasuke came out of the tree with incredible speed and was about to throw a kunai at Sakura and Sai. Sai,taking out his swords,was quick enough to block all the kunai's. 

Narumi nodded towards Sai and the others. Every strength was needed if there was going to be another fight,and Shikamaru himself prepared himself for this fight.. 

Without even knowing it,Narumi was already on her way to attack Sasuke,but this time..When she attacked,her eyes weren't filled with anger nor hatred or pain,but they were filled with amusement.. Her face was a poker face of a smirk.. What's up with her all of a sudden? 

Sasuke was fast as well,but Shikamaru couldn't help her.. And if he wasn't with her,then she might just take Sasuke to the village.
