The Mark of death

Narumi's strategy and motto was pretty simple. Escaping was easy,but being kept hidden was the hard part.  

She was breathing hard,cause she knew that Naruto and Sasuke had the potential to find her. The thing,which she knew,was that they wanted her to come out freely. They had basically said it a couple of thousand times now. 

"Why are you so protective of yourself?" Naruto called out to her,knowing that she could hear him. "It's me,Naruto! I'm your brother,you don't even have to hide from me!" 

But she did.. 

"Ever since you left you took everything with you!" he called out in agony. "Ever-ever since you left...a part of my soul left with you. My sister left me,and I felt like suffocating knowing I couldn't find you." But he can now.

"Narumi..We need you. We truly do need you!" Naruto called out. She could hear him walk slightly,and could also notice that his chakra was allot stronger than the last time she left. Both of them had grown stronger. 

But she didn't know if it was for better or for worse.. 

Narumi gave it her best shot,took her hood on and got up from her hiding place,running and standing right in front of them,quick as lightning. 

They stared at her for a while,said nothing as she looked down at the ground. Narumi's hair was allot longer than before,almost down to her hips. Not to mention the weight she had lost during this year. 

"I knew you'd show up." Naruto said at last.

"She always does." Sasuke said,but it didn't sound anything like his snide comments. But more likely just like something he wanted to make a habit. 

"I'm glad you're here." But Narumi wasn't. "We need your help.. The village..it's.. Almost destroyed. Someone attacked Hinata just a couple of hours ago,Narumi..The moon is changing its course." Narumi didn't know about this,but she sure had observed something about the moon.. She just never thought it was serious. 

"We need your help,Narumi-"

"I cannot help you." Narumi said suddenly,stiff and blank. There was no emotion in her voice. "That no longer concerns me. Only the Feudal Lords can give me orders now."

"So you've become a puppet now?" Sasuke angrily said while he looked down at the ground,clutching his fists. "You're a puppet of the Feudal bastards! Just waiting to get orders while the world is about to end!"

"This is no longer my fight!" Narumi shot back with daggers in her eyes as she looked at Sasuke. "I am not a puppet. I simply serve."

"Yes,that's called a puppet-"

"That's called a free will and fighting for what you're meant to fight for!" Narumi tightened her jaw and gritted her teeth. "You may be two of the very little people I love. But that makes no excuse for what I am."

"But I am just the same as you!" Naruto burst out,which is the aprt where he was wrong. He was nothing like Narumi. He could keep it under control,cause he's a good person,a kind person.. Narumi always lost it,never thought about how it could affect others but only focused on justice and revenge. Patiently,like a snake,she hit at the right time when she was calm. But once she lost it,she became a wild lion. 

"You're not..." Narumi whispered. "You fully know you're not." 

Narumi looked at Naruto with soft eyes,but didn't let her guard down. "Go back to the village. I can't help." 

"What about your father?" Sasuke said it so suddenly Narumi had no time to actually process what he'd said. But she'd heard it,loud and clear. And she dearly wondered why he'd bring her father up. 

"What about Lord Fourth and Kushina Uzumaki sacrificing their lives for the village?" Narumi looked down at the ground blankly. "They gave up their lives so they could save the village and the two of you. They leaned the future to you and Naruto! Not to anyone else,Narumi!"He was angry,she clearly knew that. 

Before she even knew it,Naruto was about to attack,and he was just as quick as lightning. Moving from one point to another,barely visible for Narumi's eyes. He tok her by the collar and threw her away towards a tree,but Narumi landed on her feet,staggering. 

Indeed..Just like she thought. Naruto had made quite some progress. 

"You've grown strong," Narumi said,getting up on her feet. "But I will not fight you two."

"Exactly." Naruto said,preparing himself. "You will be fighting me. I heard about a duel the Feudal Lords have.. Win the duel and you get a wish,lose the duel and you'll slave."

Narumi narrowed her eyes. How did he know about the Feudal Lords pleasure rules? This was specifically something the Feudal Lords loved to see,a duel. Win the duel and you get a wish,if you lose then you have to serve the winner for at least two weeks until your 'master' frees you.

Narumi had done the duel before,12 times,and had won. She never lost her duels. And she mostly did it to get payed good money. The duel itself consists of a jutsu that ties you to the opponent. 

But Narumi wasn't about to do it.. "I won't."

"Are you that much of a coward? Can't meet me?" Narumi narrowed her eyes. "It's a fair and square fight.. So what's the deal? Scared I might win? Let's see how powerful you've actually grown,sister." Who was this in front of her? Talking like she was enemy. 

Maybe they actually were enemies for now. She did,after all,kill one of their shinobi's for stealing a powerful object. Although under the command of the Hokage. However,a kill is a kill. And the worse part is that it wasn't just any shinobi. It was Kakashi's first hand helper as the position of the Hokage. 

"Alright then." Narumi said. "Fight me." 

"Narumi!" Izuka and Sumo were right behind her,with Sakura and the others close behind. "We need to leave. If not we're gonna have to fight them off." Which was true. 

Narumi shook her head. "If I win,we get to go without you and the leaf following us any longer. If you win,I'll help you with whatever it is you want me to do." Naruto crossed his arms and smirked,pointing at Sumo and Izuka. 

"Those two,too." Narumi saw them nod and went along withthe idea. 

She went in front of Naruto and took her hand out. "In order for the duel to be fully set,we need to make sure we don't break our vows. When my chant is over and purple smoke holds our hands together,you say your vow and I say mine,then we part as I chant the last words." Naruto nodded as he took Narumi's hand. 

Narumi remembered the chants very well,didn't even have to think twice before doing it. She would win,and once she'd win-

"Naruto!" Sakura said. "You can't,you're-"

"I'm fine,Sakura." Naruto said,locking eyes with Narumi. Narumi wondered what was going on,but ignored the matter and started chanting. 

"Two souls,bind control,chakra by points,strength without holds,duels forcome forth. Win or lose,you're in debt,too." Soon enough purple smoke started lingering around their hands,started dancing mysteriously around their bound hands. 

Narumi looked at Naruto and nodded. "If I win,you and your team come with me for as long as possible and help me solve our problem. If I lose,I'll do what you ask me to." Narumi nodded,proud that Naruto had said his words clearly,without any loop holes. 

"If I win you and the leaf will stop bothering the Feudal Lords private assassins. You will not come after us,and you will not speak to us as long as we're part of the Lords assassination plan. If I lose,I'll go along with your wishes." Naruto nodded. 

"Words by blood,sacre our marks." And suddenly,just like many other marks Narumi had on her body,another mark started forming on her palm. The mark of the duel,keeping their words for what they're doing. 

"If we don't hold our promises after the duel," Narumi said,her face dark. "We die."
