"You did a good job" Luke smiled at me.

"Thanks" I smiled back.

I rested my head on the shoulder and felt his warmth against my skin. He smelled awfully good too. The same amazing smell from yesterday.

"You smell good" I told him.

"Thanks. I showered this morning" he chuckled.

I hugged his arm tightly and kissed his neck. He shivered by shaking his head fast like a horse and making a sound. I laughed and saw the goosebumps on his neck.

"What are you doing?" I laughed.

"You made me shiver" he pouted.

I pecked the same spot and he shivered again, doing the same movement.

"Stop.." He whined.

I pecked him again and watched his shiver. I laughed.

"You're going to get it after dinner, you'll see" he warned.

I rolled my eyes and he wrapped his arm around me, tugging me close. Suddenly, the door opened and I shot up, almost making Luke's arm whip in his face.

I saw my dad at the door, carrying a few bags. He looked at me between Luke and I. I widened my eyes and he widened his eyes too.

Luke and I were still holding hands. My dad was about to say something until my mom, Jack, and Liz came into the living room.

"Tom!!" My mom exclaimed, hugging my dad.

"Tom, it's so nice to see you" Liz said, hugging my dad after my mom hugged my dad.

"You too" he said back, hugging her.

"Jack, how are you?" My dad asked, doing their bro hug.

"Luke" my dad muttered, nodding in the direction of where our hands were intertwined.

I quickly pulled away and blushed. Luke blushed and waved. He smiled nervously and looked at me. I smiled nervously.

My dad loves Luke. He's like the son he never had, but my dad seems he doesn't approve the look of us holding hands. Wait till' he finds out that we are dating. The would freak him out for sure.

"What is this? And what's that smell?" My dad asked, happily, and switching back to his attention to Jack, Liz, and my mom.

"Well, since you're back, we made you a feast!" My mom cheered.

"A feast? You didn't have to" my dad chuckled.

"Nonsense" Liz smiled.

"Come on!!"my mom dragged my dad out of the living room. "Let's eat"

__________________________

We were sitting at our long wooden dining table. I was sitting next to Luke on the right side, Liz and Jack were sitting next to each other on the left side, my dad was at the front, and my mom was at the end.

Food lied out all over the table. Turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, spaghetti, chicken, bread rolls, and many more.

We were eating in silence. The only sound was the clanging of our forks and spoons against the plates.

"So, does anyone want some more gravy?" My mom asked, breaking the silence.

"No thanks" I muttered.

"I would like some more please" Luke smiled.

My mom passed the gravy to Luke and he simply poured some on his plate. I looked at my dad and he seemed a bit mad.

"So, you guys are dating without my permission?" My dad asked us.

Luke and I widened our eyes.

"Tom.." My mom whispered to him, but he put his hand up.

"Yes.." I muttered.

"Yes, sir" Luke gulped.

"Do you think you would ask me first?" My dad glared at Luke.

"Da-"

"Answer the question" he glared at me.

"Tom, now is not the time. Plus, she's old enough to do whatever she wants" my mom told him.

"She simply cannot get a boyfriend at her age"

"Da-"

"Flora, you did not ask me. Therefore you won't get one until you are out of the house" he harshly disclaimed.

"Tom!" My mom yelled.

"She will do what I say!!" My dad yelled back.

"I think maybe it's not a good time to be here right now" Liz nervously blurted while getting up from her chair.

"No, stay, please" my mom told Liz.

"We will talk about this later" my mom eyed my dad.

I looked down, not feeling hungry anymore. Luke grabbed my hand and squeezed. I secretly looked at him and he gave me a small smile.

I returned it and we continued to eat in silence.

I cleaned the table, scrubbing the chocolate cake off of the table. I sighed, scared of the consequences that I will be facing when the Hemmings will go.

The Hemmings were talking to my dad about how things were going and other things that I don't care about. At the corner of my eye, I could see my dad glaring at Luke while Luke looked awkwardly at the ground.

I brought the rag to the sink and washed it with my hands. My mom came next to me and kissed on the side of my forehead. She rubbed my back and I sighed.

"Do you think he's going to be really mad?" I asked my mom.

"I hope not. I hope he can understands what you have been going through lately" she shrugged.

I frowned.

"Yes, I saw those hate comments on social media. It's literally on every gossip website" my mom confessed.

I sighed and nodded.

I soon finished and headed to living room. I was about to take a seat next to Luke until my dad glared at me so I took a seat next to him.

"Of course, he had to clean it up since he spilled the chocolate everywhere" Liz exclaimed, eyeing Jack while Jack rolled his eyes.

I chuckled and looked at Luke. He looked at me with sympathy in my eyes. I gave him a small smile and looked down before my dad could catch us.

"Well, I guess we better be going" Liz got up.

I widened my eyes and I shook my head behind my dad's back. She sighed and shook her head. Liz mouthed 'You need to face this'.

Thanks, Liz.

I pouted and all of them got up. I looked at Luke and got up. I was about to wrap my arms around him until my dad pulled me down. I angrily sighed.

We said our goodbyes. When I mean 'we', I mean my dad and my mom. Not me, since my dad didn't want me to get close to Luke.

I waved to Luke goodbye and he waved back.

"I will talk to you later" I mouthed.

"Okay. Good luck" he mouthed back.

I gave him a smile until my dad shut the door. He crossed his arms.

I'm ready.
