Chapter 1

"Maggs hurry up" Sally called from down stairs. Sally was Maggs best friend; they met when Maggie first moved to Cape Town eleven years ago. Maggie replied to an ad Sally posted looking for a roommate. The two have been inseparable since then.

Maggie always knew she would move to Cape Town one day but she envisioned herself having a family and husband by then. She never thought one day she would be here minus the babies and husband, nursing a broken heart and spirit that's been left dry and empty with nothing to give to no one should anyone come along.

She kept tugging at the hem of the dress she was wearing; it was a royal blue shift dress hanging just above her knee with an open back. She kept staring at herself in the mirror wondering if she would make the right impression by wearing this for a first date. Sally assured her it would be a perfect fit and it was but why did she feel as if she was not perfect at all.

She had long forgotten about that day twelve years ago, but standing here staring at her self in the mirror at this moment brought back memories she hasn't thought about for so long.

Sally came rushing up the stairs into her room and it brought Maggie back out of her reverie.

"Omw" Sally squealed. "You look gorgeous. Jason better keep his hands to himself or he will have me to deal with" sally said making Maggie even more nervous then she already was.

Sally dragged Maggie down stairs with one more lick of gloss on Maggie's lips and pushed Maggie out the door to the waiting car on the pavement.

Maggie was silently praying she wouldn't trip because her legs were anything but stable at the moment .Jason got out of the car and met Maggie as she made her way towards the car. Being the perfect man, he opened the car door and skipped around to the driver's side.

They drove off into the sunset while listening to some music on the radio. Jason was a person who would regularly come into their coffee shop for the past five years. He held a masculine body most girls would drool over and he always seemed to be dressed in a suit. I still don't know what he does for a living but hey its just one date right.

She and Sally have gotten to know his order by heart and had it ready even before he would enter the shop, he would always be there at the same time every morning

Maggie couldn't be more relieved that the radio was on , why she agreed to say yes to this date was besides her ,oh yes wait a minute Sally threatened her if she didn't go out soon and have fun they'd have to rent the extra room to annoying Paul they worked with. In addition, Paul was not some one you trust having around especially when he blatantly admitted in front of customers that he would marry you one day. Maggie suddenly shivers as the thought of her and Paul passed through her mind.

"Getting cold" Jason asked.

"No, just getting comfortable" Maggie quietly said.

"Well don't get too comfortable because we're here, I thought we could have some supper before we paint the town red "Jason replied smirking.

Maggie was hoping she was dressed appropriately, she should have sent him a text to ask where they would be going .oh well lets hope its nothing too fancy. Jason came around the car and opened her door, Maggie's jaw nearly dropped as she saw the building in front of her.

He had to be a trust fund baby, in order to afford this she thought to herself. They walked down the carpet and were greeted by a very stiff looking Mr. Charlie Chaplin look a like "good evening; do you have a reservation sir" Charlie asked
