"Doctor is he ever going to recover?"

Maggie asked for the hundredth time, knowing what the answer to that question is going to be.

"Maggie it's unlikely that he will recover if he hasn't by now, don't give up hope, but also remember that you have your life to live. It's hard giving up everything for a person in Jason's state. Think about your choices"

Maggie returned the handset to its console. Not feeling any better than she did when she woke this morning.

She was determined to stay with Jason, but heart was fading from love to pity.

He helped her though difficult times this past year a half. He made her trust and love again. He showed her that she could be happy again that she deserved to be happy. He loved her unconditionally, yet she felt like she would betray him if she left. But was it worth staying with some one out of pity. Was there still love between them? She wasn't so sure right now.

She played with the ring on her finger, laughing how the morganite sparkled under the bed lamp taking her back to the day they got engaged.

She slipped it off and a sudden sadness overcame her, she hasn't removed it since Jason put it on her finger and asked her to be his wife. She kissed it once more and then hid it in the drawer of her night stand.

Why was her life all about making difficult decisions? She tried to convince herself that she loved Jason but apart of her has been nagging to see Adam again. Her life was taking her in circles.

Maggie never revisited the meeting between her, Adam and his mother. How she ended up there in the first place was beyond her.

Every time the memory tried to make its self known, she would dismiss it. She was afraid of the lingering feelings in the dark.

Mother, what am I to do. Can I live with a man that won't ever be able to say I love you or kiss me good night or should I just give up and be by myself ... forever? Help me mum, send me some sort of sign please.

Maggie begged, and fell asleep dreaming of times when her life made sense.

"Doc you got to make sure things is going smoothly and that they work out, you can't fail me now. Remember you promised" the voice answered on the other side of the phone line.

'Sir you have my word, ill do my utmost best. I'm a man of my word. Ill do everything I can for Mr. Clark. You don't have to worry."

The doctor replied trying to sound calm, although he knew the man on the other side of the line had enough power to make him loose his medical license if he didn't keep his part of the deal.

"Maggie wake up, you can't be sleeping all day. Maggie wake up." The voice kept calling but Maggie's eyes would not open.

The person kept shaking Maggie trying to wake her up until eventually her eyelids fluttered open.

"Sal...Sally? What are you doing here? What's the time?" Maggie sat up in the bed.

"It's past noon. Are you planning on spending the day in bed? Come lets go get lunch or in your case supper."

"No I can't. I have to take care of Jason. I wonder if he has been fed and given his meds yet." Maggie tried getting out of bed, but sally stopped her by pushing her to fall backwards on the bed.

Maggie sat up and could tell by the look in sally eyes that she meant business, so she sat down like a good girl and waited for sally to speak.

"Maggie you can't consume your whole life by taking of Jason. You need to live too. God I love the guy, but I can't watch you give up living because he cant. COME"
