Chapter 39
"So..." sally began whilst twiddling her thumbs and sitting across from Maggie at the coffee shop.
"I've got something to tell you, but you have to promise that you A wont freak out, B bombard me with questions and C be overly shocked. Okay?" sally told Maggie eyeing her nervously.
Sally has been loosing sleep for nearly two days; going over the conversation she was going to have with Maggie, how exactly she was going to tell Maggie that she'd fallen in love. She knew it would shock Maggie, it shocked her as well. She always thought she was incapable of falling in love with some one. It was shocking finding that there was actually a possibility that she could have found true love at last.
Sally wasn't some one who got all girly girl giddy like most females do when the fall head over heals in love. She was going o go into this relationship with her head even though her heart is fight to be the front runner. She needed to be clear about Dane 's intentions towards her.
Dane was not your typical guy most girls would go for being that he was married before and had two gorgeous eight year old twin boys. The divorce was a mutual decision between both parties, they just fell out of love with each other, that being sally's biggest reservation about making things serious between them. What if he falls out of love with her she thought? She wasn't sure if she was emotionally stable to fully invest herself into a relationship with this man. There was no doubt that she had fallen for him. She just couldn't fathom how one falls out of love with some one.
Dane shared custody of his twin boys and had them visit twice a month. They were the cutest little people sally has ever seen. Jordan who was five minutes older than James looked every bit like Dane. The same light brown curly hair, same grey molten eyes. James, sally assumed looked like his mother. He had dark brown straight hair that looked almost black. He shared the same grey eyes as Jordan and Shane. If it wasn't for the hair color and height difference one would swear that they were identical.
Sally didn't fall in love after their first meeting. It was a few weeks later when he began opening up to Sally about his divorce and being a single dad. That Sally figured if he was sharing that information with her, he was probably serious when he said he wanted to her to know her better.
When Dane first introduced the twins to sally she was nervous. Maggie would have laughed if she saw Sally. Sally was one of those people that rarely got nervous for any reason.
Sally expected the twin to have full blown tantrums and rude behavior; so far all they have given her were plenty of laughs and good manners. Jordan was definitely like Shane, he had his goofiness. Where as James was more the introvert kind, kept to him self mostly, always had his nose in a book and would only participate in conversations from time to time.
Everything about Dane was legit according to the laws of womanhood, but sally was afraid of just jumping into it with him. He hasn't formally asked her to be his girlfriend but she could tell things were definitely headed that direction.
So here she sat, staring at her best hoping that was going o be easier than she thought. she was swallowing continuously trying not to choke on her own words, it was difficult to say the very words she always dreaded saying.
She took a deep breathe and then....
'I'm in love with a guy, named Dane." She blurted out exhaling loudly like a weight has been lifted of her shoulder.
Twiddling her thumbs she looked every where but at Maggie. Her eyes refused to meet Maggie's.
"You what? Could you repeat that? And this time slower please." Maggie asked clearly shocked by sally's confession.
