Maggie found herself liking Cindy more and more. She had to admit if Jason's mother wasn't so up tight she would have said that all was perfect in her world at this moment. The more time Maggie and Cindy spent together the more she discovered. she learnt that Cindy got married when she was 19 but divorced soon after. She was now dating the son of one of her mother's friends in Italy, and once a year they would return to South Africa to check up on their investments they had.

Maggie felt like this was more than she could ever have dreamed of, having people that cared for her... well except Jason's mum that is. She knew it was normal for Jason's mother to react the way she did. Besides being the only son, he was also one of the top sought after business man in Cape Town. But that didn't mean his mother was right. In fact she couldn't be more further from the truth Maggie thought.

Maggie knew she had to prove herself to Abela but time was limited. She had to make sure that she wasn't seen as the gold digger that this woman believed her to be. But the question was how. She couldn't turn to Sally for help. Sally obviously didn't care what people thought of her and Maggie also would not have let Abela bother her, but she was serious about making her relationship with Jason work. She truly loved Jason and she didn't want to have her boyfriends mother always trying to break them up. She had enough of that Maggie decided, she had Adams parents interfere once. this time she was going to make the decisions, what was good for her relationship.

Maggie knocked at Cindy's bedroom door, hoping that this was a good idea. Maggie has come to learn that Cindy could get pretty enthusiastic about almost anything.

"Come in" Cindy called from the bathroom. "What you need doll? Is everything okay with my brother, you're not having problems yet are you?"

Maggie stared at Cindy in shock. Some times she had to take a step back because Cindy's bluntness still shocked her to her core.

"No we are fine. Your brother and I are fine, but I was just wondering if I could talk to you about ... you know... um your mother. I just wished I knew why she didn't like me, I mean I do know the obvious reasons but is it just that or are there other reasons. Do you perhaps think you could talk to her and find out if there is anything else?"

Maggie held her breath she knew it was risky asking Abela's daughter to do the fishing but she needed to do something. Once Abela left for Italy it would be too late. In the mean time she had to start wooing Abela with luxuries and love.

just as Maggie was about to leave Cindy's room she turned around facing Cindy whom was now sitting on the little stool that came with he vanity. She really wished Cindy wouldn't apply so much make-up to her the girl was gorgeous Au natural. She was actually shocked when she walked into Cindy the next morning. She couldn't believe the flawless skin that hid under all those layers of foundation and make up.

"Does Abela like shopping? What are her favorite things?" Maggie questioned Cindy.

"Are you trying to butter up the future mother in law? Are we huh?" Cindy teased.

Maggie Cheeks flushed crimson.

"No I just want to get to know her better. I would like to try and change the perception she has of me that's all" with that Maggie turned on her heel and left the room. Halfway down the stairs she bumped into Abela.

"Kids of today got no manners ." she huffed. Maggie stepped out of theway wanting to apologize but before she could open her mouth Abela spoke again. "Did you see what she did Jason? She basically knocked me out the way; I suppose she was hoping that if she pushed me hard enough I would fall down the stairs and die." Abela sneered in Maggie's direction.

"Madre I am sure it was not intentional. I don't think Maggie pushed you on purpose. Right Maggie?" Jason turned to look at Maggie. For a moment she was lost again in those eyes again.
