CHAPTER 5

(Flash back)

Damn I can't believe it's taking John so long. All he had to was to go there apologize and mention me. Remind her of the love I have for her, and then I would just have swept in and claimed her again. I can't stand this Samantha. We not getting any younger I can only imagine if Maggie and I had been married by now we would have had a soccer team running around the house. I have been a fool to not have been there for her at all.

Damn my parent's, damn life, damn everything. I really hope she forgives me. We could have been happy together. A knock on the door distracts me from my thoughts. "Come in" I almost shout.

"Mr. Adams I have some news maybe you would like to sit down first sir." Don't you dare tell me to sit down what is the god damned news Phillip?

"Um sir we can't find Maggie sir, we searched everywhere sir, we have even been waiting at her workplace, she hasn't been to work in almost two weeks sir." he nervously fidgets with his fingers.

"Two weeks? You find her and bring me some useful information before I get rid of you! You imbecile" I grab the closest thing and throw it against the wall. I hear my secretary scramble into the room. "Clean it up I'm going out, I don't know when I'll be back I say whilst walking out the door." I have to find her I think to myself she couldn't just disappeared.

(Present)

"Dinner was lovely Jason. I can't remember the last time I felt so relaxed." I smile at him. "It's my pleasure" and we momentarily just stood outside the restaurant "um Maggs I know we both agreed to wait till you feel better um what I mean is... I know I agreed to just be your friend and I want you to know that what happened earlier doesn't change that about us. Yes the kiss was amazing but I don't want to jeopardize the trust we're building. So please don't feel awkward about it okay?" he bends down and I think he is going to kiss me again after that whole rust speech but instead he puts a piece of hair behind my ear and let his fingers linger on my cheek.

We arrive back at Jason's house and bid each other good night. We head to our rooms and undress and get in bed. I don't know how long I just laid there staring into the dark. I kept asking myself if it is possible to move on from my past, if I'll be able to give hundred percent of myself to this man.

I don't know when I dozed off but the smell of coffee woke me. I love nothing better than the smell of coffee in the morning. I don't know if I'm dreaming or if its really the smell of coffee until I hear a voice say "I don't know how you can love coffee so much I mean you work in a coffee shop don't you get sick of the smell?" I push myself into sitting position. "Morning Jason" I say with a smile on my face.

"Geez if knew coffee would make you smile I would have bought the whole coffee tree with beans and all" Jason says while handing me my coffee. As I sit up it takes me a moment to realize that I'm only wearing a transparent vest. I blush while pulling the duvet underneath my chin. I fumble for words, wanting to know why Jason is up here in my room, trying to hide my embarrassment I take a sip first. "Why up so early" I ask in-between sips. "Its noon Maggs I had a feeling you forgot your appointment at the doctor at two pm today". Shocked I blankly stare at him.

I practically run to the bathroom coffee in hand. I got in the shower and by the time, I went back into the room Jason was gone, much to my relief. I finished getting done and went down stairs to find Jason. I walk into the kitchen and find him leaning against the counter with his phone in hand, probably checking his messages. "Maggs you can use one of the cars in the garage, unless you want me going with you to your appointment." "I assumed you were going with me" I say "I can't drive. I never got the chance to learn how" I say with embarrassment clearly showing on my face.
