Chapter 12

"Let me start by saying how terribly sorry I am Maggie. I didn't now about the baby. No knows about it as far as I know and I really want you listen to what I am about to say. If I didn't think Adam was sorry for what he did to you, I would not have come all this way to apologize to you and ask you to come see him. Maggie did you talk to Adam? Or have you seen him? He is in a bad state and he needs help, thus the reason I am here. You're the only one that can help him. He is loosing everything Maggs. Its like life has no meaning to him anymore.

He has given up. He left Samantha and has filed for divorce. He even cut off his own parents. I can't remember the last time he went to work. He keeps himself cooped up in his room. I don't even remember the last time he finished any of the meals I left out side his room door. It's breaking my heart and I don't know what to do anymore. It's breaking my heart to see him like this. No one deserves to be feeling like this"

Francis broke down in tears .Maggie couldn't tell if she was telling the truth or if this was one of Adams scams to get her back. He looked fine that day he came around. She even waited, wondering if he was going to call her to finally apologize, but nothing came. Honestly, she gave up wondering why he bothered to come around in the first place.

She looked at the poor women and her heart shattered into pieces seeing some one actually give a damn about Adam. Just as Maggie opened her mouth to speak Sally entered the room. Maggie didn't even know when Sally returned she had been so caught up in listening to what Francis was saying.

"No offense lady, but Maggs don't you dare listen to that bullcrap, try to remember that was exactly what happened to you when he decided you weren't good enough for him anymore. No one helped you Maggs, no one was there to soothe your pain and wipe your tears. No one was there when you kept screaming at night begging to for the nightmares to go away. Nightmares he caused you. So why in the hell should you go back just so that he can feel better and stop moping? FUCK THIS SHIT Maggs, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT." Sally vented angrily.

Maggie don't know what came over Sally, but she knew what Sally said was out of love. She also knew Sally had made a valid point. Looking at her best friend, the pain and sadness she felt for Maggie was evident in her eyes. It wasn't until this moment that Maggie realized Sally too carried the pain Maggie endured when Adam left.

Sally would always be swearing the night after Maggie's nightmare how that if she ever found Adam she would cut off his manly parts for spoiling her sleep.

It always sounded like a normal thing for Sal to say it was until this moment I realized that those words carried so much anger and hatred. It shocked her to her core that Sally might actually take true to her word.

"Say something Maggie" Sally called from the far side of the lounge. She wasn't even aware that her trail of thought led her legs to walk to the other side of the room, where the window over looked the beautiful Table mountain.

Maggie turned towards Sally and Francis watching her with a careful eye.

"Do you know TableMountain got its name because the top of the mountain looks flat just like a table? It really is a wonder of the world, but it also brings me so much peace. I could stare at it for hours." Maggie was aware that she was starting to ramble on about mountain until she felt arms shake her.
