chapter9

It's been two months since Maggie and Jason have made their dating official. Sally was already dreaming of chocolate and raspberry filling for Maggie's wedding cake.

"Sally how many times do I have to tell you we're not getting married, so stop with the fantasies already" all Sally did was roll her eyes at her best friend and continued flipping through 'Bridal pleasures' a magazine she picked up on her way her home from the café.

"Should we order in or go out Maggs?"

"I don't feel like cooking, do you Sal?"

"Naa "they both said in unison.

"Go out then. And wear that sexy new pair of skinnnies we bought a few weeks ago. You need to Christian them. I'll even do your make up .sexy and slutty is my specialty" Sally said as she made her way up stairs towards Maggie's closet.

The girl had a real finesse for fashion tonight she was going to make sure that Maggie showed off all those glorious assets she's been hiding.

Sally and Maggie spent nearly two hours getting ready to go out and have dinner. The moment they were done. Maggie didn't feel hungry any more. All this fussing getting dressed up and make up made her loose her appetite. She was an au natural type of girl.

She didn't mind the occasional lip-gloss and eyeliner but Sally took it to a whole new level. It was not as if Maggie was trying to fish for any potential husbands. The fact that she had Jason was enough. She was already fighting a battle between the future and the past. She didn't want to add a third person to the equation.

"Lets go Maggs" sally came rushing into Maggie's room and checked them out in the mirror.

"Damn girl if I wasn't straight I'd bone you. You're smoking hot" Sally whistled.

The girls left the apartment and headed to one of the busiest streets in Cape Town. Maggie thought they were only going out for supper but clearly sally had other things planned.

They ended up at their favorite Asian restaurant.

"Cheer up Maggs .you're spending so much time with Jason and I am happy that you finally moving on, but its only fare you spend equal time with me being that I found you first"

What was really bothering Maggie was that some how she felt as if she was cheating on her best friend. She knew that some how she was going to have to tell Sally the missing piece of her past she kept hidden from everyone in her life.

She knew she was falling deeper in love with Jason and he would eventually find out the truth behind her fear of love.

Unaware that she was drifting down memory lane again. She was brought back to the present when Sally put their drinks down on the table.

"I know you don't drink but I felt like celebrating,"

"Okay, I'll have one drink with you and the rest will be my choice, Deal?" Maggie said.

"Deal! But why are you being such a downer tonight lets go wild and celebrate you dating again and getting laid"

Sally was a very out spoken friend and the reason why they were the best of friends. Like the saying goes opposites attract. Maybe silently Sally was saying things Maggie was ashamed to say at time.
