3. Meta-Humans and Super Heroes

"I wasn't the only one affected by the particle accelerator explosion, was I?" Barry stormed in, catching everybody's attention.

"We don't know for sure" Dr. Wells spoke up.

"You said the city was safe, that there was no residual danger. But that's not true, so what really happened that night?" Barry's anger grew and Tori walked up to him.

"The accelerator went active, and then, it all went wrong. A dimensional barrier ruptured, unleashing unknown energies into our world" Tori started to explain before Dr. Wells cut in.

"Anti-matter, dark energy, - X-elements"

"Those are all theoretical" Barry spat as he walked to the other side of the room and Tori followed him to where he was going.

"And how theoretical are you?" Dr. Wells's anger was rising as well.

"We've mapped dispersion throughout and around Central City but we have no way of knowing exactly what or who was exposed. We've been searching for other metahumans, like yourself" Tori explained lightly and Barry looks at her, his glare at Dr. Wells softening when his eyes met hers.

"Metahumans?" His voice is soft, seeming to only listen to her.

"That's what we are calling them thanks to me" she says in a proud tone, trying to lighten the mood.

"I saw one today," he looks back at the others, blinking out of his trance,"He's a bank robber, and he can control the weather"

"This just keeps getting cooler" Cisco says quietly but Barry hears him.

Just when Tori thought his anger has lowered, it rose again.

"This is not cool! Alright? A man died. Mardon must have gotten his powers the same way I did. From the storm cloud. He's still out there. We have to stop him before he hurts anyone else"

"Barry! That's a job for the police" Dr. Wells says.

"Yeah, I work for the police" Barry states making Tori wince.

"As a forensic assistant" she says, not holding back any sass and he glares at her, making her shrug.

Confidence is the key she thought to herself.

"You're responsible for this. For him" Barry says while looking back at Dr. Wells.

"What's important is you! Not me.
I lost everything. I lost my company. I lost my reputation. I lost my freedom.
And then you broke your arm, and it healed in three hours.

Inside your body, could be a map to a whole new world genetic therapy, vaccines, medicines, treasures, Barry.
Deep within your cells, and we cannot risk losing everything because you wanna go out and play hero" Dr. Wells takes a deep breath to keep his temper down.

"You're not a hero. You're just young man who was struck by lightning" Wells spats and before Tori could stop Barry, he speeds off.

The crew back at STAR Labs didn't know where Barry went. He was gone all night, worrying Tori who called him every hour to check on him.

He never answered if you were wondering.

What they didn't know was he was at Starling City, talking to their vigilante known as The Arrow.

While he was gone, Tori and Cisco decided to start cleaning up the cortex so they could get ready to leave.

Caitlin had already left, claiming she was exhausted and would see them tomorrow.
